Lane Garrison, who starred on the FOX televsion show 'Prison Break', has been sentenced to 40 months in jail today for his crash while driving under the influence that killed a teenage girl and badly injured another passenger in the same vehicle.

"The public has the right to know that conduct such as this, causing devastation such as this. Unfortunately, in this case, you have to be the messenger" will have consequences, Superior Court Judge Elden S. Fox said.

Garrison had faced the maxium of seven years behind bars.

"I'm sick of my own behavior that night," the actor said in court. "This remorse is genuine. I feel it every day."

The judge also ordered Garrison to pay $300,000 in n restitution to the victims and their families.
