A Halloween Nightmare: Cleveland Cavaliers Blown Out by Dallas Mavericks on Opening Night

Well, at least the Cleveland Cavaliers fans had something to cheer about tonight. In the pre-game ceremonies before the game, the Cavaliers did something they had never done in franchise history: Raise a banner that celebrated the 2006-2007 Eastern Conference Championship. Unfortunately for the 20,000 plus fans that attended the game, that was about all that was worth cheering about as the Cavaliers soundly defeated by the Dallas Mavericks 92-74.

The Cavaliers were never very close against the Western Conference behemoths as they trailed 29-15 after the first quarter and over 20 points at the end of the first half. The Cavaliers only shot 28-77 from the floor.

The Cavaliers play host to the New York Knicks on Friday night in their next game of the 2007-2008 season.

Comments

We hear it every year in the first half by the commentators. "LeBron is letting the game come to him and getting his teammates involved." B.S.! His teammates are waiting for HIM to lead the way. LeBron is afraid of failure. He uses that "let the game come to him" line because he's afraid to assert himself and possibly miss 10 straight shots and mess up his "IMAGE". He needs to be more like Kobe and chuck the ball up there another 10-20 shots a game. When LeBron is on the attack, his teammates are better. Even Damon Jones! I am sick of watching this bullcrap for the past few years. I had to turn yesterday's game off because I couldn't watch anymore. Yes, LeBron needs more help... but, he needs to help himself more too. Everybody will benefit... including ME!
