Larry Flynt Supports Kucinich, Chuck Norris Backs Huckabee
Dennis Kucinich and Mike Huckabee are battling it out for the weirdest presidential campaign endorsements. Kucinich has picked up the support of Hustler head honcho Larry Flynt, while Huckabee has nabbed the endorsement of internet phenom/actor Chuck Norris.
On November 16, Larry Flynt held a star-studded fundraiser for Congressman Dennis Kucinich at the Hustler-LFP headquarters in Los Angeles. Press was not permitted at the event, and there were approximately 150 contributors in attendance. The event consisted of a cocktail reception, and speeches by both Kucinich and Flynt.
This fundraiser marked a first for Larry Flynt, who has never before held any kind of a political fundraiser, despite having attended similar events in the past. Flynt, his wife, and the host committee threw the fundraiser. The committee consisted of big names, including Edward Norton, Woody Harrelson, Sean & Robin Wright Penn, Melissa & Tammy Etheridge, Stephen & Kristen Stills, Frances Fisher, and Esai Morales, amongst others.
Flynt, an Ohio native and long-time Kucinich supporter, explained his support of the Democratic candidate:
"I support Dennis KUCINICH because not only have I been a friend of his for 40 years, but I believe he offers an essential, viable and exciting option to the candidates that are more popular at the moment."
Meanwhile, Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee began bombarding Iowan voters this week with 60-second television ad featuring the endorsement of Chuck Norris.
In the ad the actor describes Huckabee as a "principled, authentic conservative", and informs voters of Huckabee's support of 2nd Amendment rights and abolishing taxes. Now here's where things get strange. Chuck Norris also lets viewers know that he will personally secure the border, has a fist hiding beneath his beard, and can move the earth. Um, alrighty then!
When it comes down to the oddest celebrity endorsements, we still think that Huckabee takes the cake with Chuck Norris. At least in the case of Kucinich, Larry Flynt has power and pull. Flynt still maintains that he will be revealing more Republican sex scandals, and most recently said that his next big reveal will involve a prominent GOP senator.

Larry Flynt is a political powerhouse who is greatly responsible for, over the years, protecting free speech and American civil liberties. Chuck Norris is an American icon who ranks with the best of any Nascar racer or baseball player. Also, even though I don't support Huckabee, the Chuck Norris commercial is great!
So my question is, how are these so-called "endorsements" weird at all? Are they any weirder than Reverend Pat Robertson's endorsement of Rudy Giulliani?
Nope.
This article is useless unless your trying to make Kucinich or Huckabee look like kooks. In which case you should just say they are kooks and then give me something more substantial to back it up, instead of trying to trick me into thinking this is news while you take a jab at Huckabee and Kucinich.
Get a pair, do some REAL research, then write something worth reading.
I don't think it was a dig at Kucinich or Huckabee. In fact, if you read the site they are very pro-Kucinich. The fact of the matter is that this was Larry Flynt's first fund-raiser for a canadiate. I think that is why this was deemed "newsworthy". As for Chuck Norris, he is just a freak.
Anyone interested in what Huckabee is really like face to face should try this funny (but it actually happened) column:

If it was not meant to be a dig, I'd say it was bad reporting then. The first sentence of the article is,
"Dennis Kucinich and Mike Huckabee are battling it out for the weirdest presidential campaign endorsements."
I'm just saying, it's not a battle and the endorsements, albeit unusual, are not really weird.
I'm sure if anyone digs hard enough, they'd find weird. This just doesn't do it for me. It seems more insulting to news readers than anything.
Mike Huckabee is a self proclaimed man of God; however how can that be true when he is filled with so much hate? He hates gays, muslims wants to stay in Iraq to continue the blood bath with our tax money and eventually invade Iran for more killing. Check out his latest speech in his own words.......http://www.jbs.org/node/6394
In my opinion this speech is the reason for his jump in the polls, he is giving in to special interests..There is no other reasonable explanation because his campagn is broke as a joke.
I agree that Chuck Norris may be an unusual endorsement, but you have to admit, Huckabee seems to know what will work. With relatively no money, the man has risen like a phoenix out of the ashes of obscurity, and caught up with multi-millionaire and mega-spender Mitt Romney. Just check out the recent state and national polls: www.mike-huckabee.blogspot.com
I think wierdness is in the mind of the reporter.
Larry Flyntn is weird on anybodys scale. But give
me a break, to put Chuck Norris as an equal to
La. Fly. is tabloid reporting.
Day by day, increasingly, Mike Huckabee is what Leadership looks like. He's an adroit public speaker calling upon his listeners to "do something," to awaken to their own empowerment, and to act in order that "Main Street," and not "Wall Street," will prevail in guarding the values and beliefs upon which the Republic was founded.
Huckabee puts his listeners at ease, and reassures them, articulating clear concepts in a natural, easy style (no doubt something well-cultivated as a pastor). One can easily imagine sitting comfortably with this man over a cup of coffee at the Main Street Cafe.
Most importantly, Huckabee convinces many that he is ONE with the FairTax grassroots movement.
Romney's recent WEAK response to FairTax questioning on “This Week with Geo. Stephanopoulos” drew a sharp contrast between Huckabee and all other presidential front-runners who will not embrace it. Huckabee understands that what's wrong with the income tax can't be fixed with "a tap of the hammer, nor a twist of the screwdriver." That his opponents cling to the destructive Tax Code, the IRS, preserving political power of granting tax favors at continued cost to - and misery of - American families, invigorates his campaign's raison d'etre.
“Main Street” will have to demand that their legislators deliver the bill to a President Huckabee.
