The Nintendo Wii is Still the Holiday's Most Sought After Gift

The Nintendo Wii, which was undeniably the hottest gift to give during the 2006 holiday season, has again taken over as the top gift of 2007. Now a year after the game console's initial launch, the Wii still sells out almost instantly by the time it reaches stores. This is despite the fact that Nintendo has increased production of the units several times.

Most of the consoles, once they arrive at the stores, are never on the shelves for more than a few minutes, if at all. With the demand as still as high as ever, instead of taking a chance at the stores, your best bet may still be to purchase one online through sites like eBay, or at Amazon.com. However if you go that route, you'll likely be paying more than you would at the stores.

If your heart is set on paying the retail price and nothing more, you may want to check with your favorite retailer and find out when or if they are expecting new shipments of Wiis, and what days they usually arrive. But be forewarned, Wiis might not get shipped regularly, or they may be unwilling to tell you.
