iPhone Going 3G in 2008

Have you been holding off on getting an Apple iPhone because it doesn't have 3G? If you answered yes, you won't have to wait too long for that to happen. Apple CEO Randall Stephenson gave the news to Bloomberg saying:
“You’ll have [Apple iPhone 3G] next year,” said AT&T chief executive officer Randall Stephenson in response to a question about when the 3G iPhone would debut. He said he did not know how much more the new version will cost compared to the existing model, which sells for $399, but indicated that Apple “will dictate what the price of the phone is”
Techies know that exactly what 3G is. For you non tech savy types, a 3G network provides super fast internet without the need provides 5-10 Mb per second of internet speed. The current version of the iPhone was criticized as it worked on "Edge" technology. One wonders if the iPhone battery, which doesn't hold a charge as well as Blackberry devices, will be able to keep a charge with the more battery-eating technology 3G.
