Arizona Congressman Co-Sponsors Cheney Impeachment

Congressman Raul Grijalva (D-AZ) has become the latest member of Congress to sign on as a co-sponsor of Dennis Kucinich's "Articles of Impeachment Against Dick Cheney", which were reintroduced on November 6, 2007 as H Res 799. Rep. Grijalva joins approximately two dozen other members of Congress who are taking a stand for the U.S. Constitution.

Grijalva is currently in his third term as a member of Congress, representing Arizona's 7th Congressional District. He serves on several House Committees, including: the Committee on Education & Labor, Committee on Natural Resources, and the Committee on Small Business.

H Res 799 is also co-sponsored by the following Members of Congress: Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), Maxine Waters (D-CA), Hank Johnson (D-GA), Keith Ellison (D-MN), Lynn Woolsey (D-CA), Barbara Lee (D-CA), Albert Wynn (D-MD), William Lacy Clay (D-MO), Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), Yvette Clarke (D-NY), Jim McDermott (D-WA), Jim Moran (D-VA), Bob Filner (D-CA), Sam Farr (D-CA), Robert Brady (D-PA), Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), Donald Payne (D-NJ), Steve Cohen (D-TN), Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), Carolyn Kilpatrick (D-MI), Ed Towns (D-NY), Diane Watson (D-CA), Danny Davis (D-IL), Raul Grijalva (D-AZ).

Comments

Please note that the article mistakenly states that Rep. Grijalva has signed on as a co-sponsor of H. Res. 799. This is incorrect according to the Library of Congress. Instead, the LOC recorded that he has signed on to the original impeachment resolution, H.Res. 333, introduced by Rep. Kucinich on the 24 April 2007.

I think this is a total waste of time. We are in the middle of a war, we don't need impeachment.

Feel free to continue to deceive yourself. You, sir, are a fool.

This guy is shame for my heritage and for my state.

I too am from Arizona and your right.

If you knew anything about heritage and it's importance you wouldn't be citing it as one of the reasons you disagree with him. Further, if you cared about your heritage you would be more ashamed at the fact that you support racist Republicans like our vice president.

This is what should have happened four years ago. We are at war BECAUSE of his crimes. If either of you people believed in what we are supposed to be fighting for you would defend the constitution regardless of who violates it! people like you make me ashamed of my state and my country.

It's a shame you have voting power. Impeachment would benefit us

Their war propaganda and efforts to suppress the new NIE should constitute grounds for immediate impeachment. If Bill Clinton could be impeached for lying about oral sex, shouldn't Bush and Cheney face trial for attempting to lie and deceive Americans into yet another war of aggression? I think so. And when that is over, the two should be handed over to the UN war crimes tribunal for prosecution on a slew of charges ranging from crimes against humanity to violating Iraqi sovereignty. They are a disgrace to the principals America was founded on, and as evil as the people they claim to be saving us from.

What a happy new year it would be if impeachment against this criminal were to come to fruition.

It sure would be a happy new year if this were to come to fruition. I'm amazed this criminal still has supporters.

It is only ANTI-Americans who are ashamed of this man and who do NOT support this correct resolution.
As far as ANTI-Americans, I see there are no repiglicans who have signed on.
THOSE are the ones my fellow Americans and fellow veterans ought to be ashamed of.
Of course, I guess we must also have cowards such as the chickenhawks who support this invented war in which bush sends the youth of America as cannon fodder to enrich his punk friends.

The time is now.

THE TIME FOR BUSH IS NOW!!! FIGHT ON MR PRESIDENT!!! WE ARE STILL IN THIS FIGHT AGAINST TERROR.

As an Arizona resident and Kucinich supporter, I'm proud of Congressman Grijalva's support in defending our Constitution and impeaching Cheney.

It takes great moral courage to take a stand to impeach the V.P. I applaud all of the heros willing to fight for our Constitution, and impeach a war criminal BEFORE he takes us into a war with Iran. We need this guy removed from office ASAP!

Americans have problems with leadership that are unpalatable to the rest of the world. Leadership of the USA will be fixed or else that empire will have to stand aside while we, the energy capital of the planet, raise your fuel costs so high that you have to choose between perverted fueling of your war machines or fueling your domestic goods delivery networks, i.e. burn your gas to kill others and die at home cuz you can’t get food. Or leave the world in peace and have gas enough to drive to work and/or the bar.

Just don't let the Zamboni run out of gas.
We need hockey!!

Go, Blackhawks.

Do as your master dictates.

or

Not

I see nothing but polarized confusion in these comments. Each of you, like most of the world's citizens, are more or less equal in your inability to see these issues clearly. It's your truest equality actually. And it's the thing that makes you seem like an inseparable mass of serfs to those that have power. Each of you share the ability to be incredibly deluded. You each think somehow that it's you and only you who is right. Your opinion over a billion others is somehow correct.

Just shut up. Go milk a cow. Shoot a Deer. Drink a Bud. Fuck your wife or your husband or your daughter. Drive to Work. Go home again. Pretend to think somehow that your life is meaningful. Just live in your confusion. Never beg to wonder why it is that those with the capacity to see more clearly either refuse to deal with you compassionately, or are just simply complacent.

It is appropriate in a democratic system for many views to be put forward. It is healthy, the suppression of those views is not.

The law should be called upon to protect citizens when the integrity of its government is called into question, and it has.

Guilt should be determined soley on the basis of factual evidence. Till that time under law Mr Cheney is innocent.

The evidence and the facts should be presented at the highest level

George W. Bush and Richard B. Cheney belong in an insane asylum. Bush is comparable to Adolf Hitler. Bush is mentally ill. Bush suffers from narcissism and megalomania. Bush lied, and thousands of people died. Bush is psychotic. Bush is dangerous. The American people should pursue the involuntary psychiatric hospitalization of Bush and Cheney to safeguard against further atrocities. God will judge and punish Bush and Cheney.

Speaking of Bill Clinton:

It is opined that Bill Clinton committed racist hate crimes, and I am not free to say anything further about it.
