Original Kinks Line-Up to Reunite for 2008 Reunion Tour
Following in the footsteps of Led Zeppelin who reunited this year, The Kinks are planning to reunite for a reunion tour next year. The Kinks' lead singer and guitarist, Ray Davies, said that the band's original members plan to play together for the first time in nearly four decades.
The original Kinks line-up included Davies' brother Dave on guitar, Pete Quaife on bass, and Mick Avory on drums. Quaife left the band in 1969, and the band continued with changing line-ups until 1996.
Dave Davies had a stroke, and Pete Quaife now has kidney problems, but according to Ray, both are very keen to get back together for a full reunion.
Davies, 63, said "I spoke to Quaife about a month ago and he dearly wants to make another record with me. I think Dave's getting better and Mick's still playing. It would be great to get back together just to see what musical ideas we had and what would happen."
The Kinks reunion is likely to coincide with the release of a Kinks CD box set called "Retrospective."

Ray Davies interview
'Ray Davies, said that the band's original members plan to play together for the first time in nearly four decades' - where did he say that?
He certainly didn't say it anywhere in the 5 page Record Collector interview that this story quotes a few lines from.
The rest is speculation by a tabloid journalist.
