Final Harry Potter Movie to Be Released in Two Parts

Crew working on the sixth Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, have been told that J.K. Rowling's seventh book in the series - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - will be released in two parts. Not only will this give Potter fans an unexpected 8th film to look forward to, but releasing it in two parts will also give Warner Brothers the opportunity to squeeze out every last dollar in the Harry Potter franchise.
As cynical as that sounds, Warner Brothers have earned more than 5 billion dollars in box office receipts from the first five Harry Potter films, and by releasing the film in two halves they stand to earn an extra $1 billion. Sources, however, insist that the reason behind making the book into two films is not financial in nature, but rather, artistic.
As Rowling wrote more books in the Harry Potter series, they got progressively longer. The first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, had a manageable 223 pages. But the last book - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - is a whopping 776 pages long, which is more than 3 times the length of the first book. Fans have long complained that large chunks of the books have been left out of the film versions of some of the later novels, so perhaps the decision to release Deathly Hallows in two parts is at least partially in response to those complaints.
A source revealed, "There's so much to fit that the view is the last movie should be in two halves. There is a huge battle when Harry, played by Daniel Radcliffe, takes on Voldemort that needs to be done really well." And even J.K. Rowling herself indicated on her website: "It is simply impossible to incorporate every storyline into a film under four hours long."
A spokesman for Warner Brothers, when asked to comment, said "People are discussing all possibilities."

Hey! I don’t know whether
Hey! I don’t know whether you guys know about it yet, but when i was scanning the Dh section on Wikipedia today, i found a link on the references page that states that Steve Kloves will write AnD Direct Dh! Here’s the link-
http://www.kpbs.org/blogs/movies/2007/07/11/harry-potter-and-the-order-of-the-phoenix /
Just read the bottom paragraphs and you’ll notice it. While I’m confident that this might indeed be a Rumor (Should be!), I’m not too sure about this. And if you check out the comments section, one guy states that he checked Dh on ImdB-Pro and it said that Kloves will Write it and Direct it, but when he checked it again, the info. has dissapeared! While I’m sure that Kloves is going to write Dh, i don’t think he would be given the chance to direct it (the guy has only directed about two movies so far!), but if this is a real piece of information that got leaked out (which is very, very unlikely) then i think we should dig this more. Have you guys heard this rumor or do you guys know anything about it?
7th movie in 2 parts
Yes I agree that the 7th movie should be longer. Making it a two part movie would be great except the problem of time between the showing of each one. The studio may want to try a two part movie with a intermission of say 20 minutes between them. Doing them a year apart would upset the flow of the story. I would set through a 5 hour movie with a 20 minute intermission for refreshment and restroom break.
THE BEST IDEA EVER!!!!!
I AGREED WITH WB MAKING TWO MOVIES WOULD BE THE BEST WAY TO FINISH THE THE SERIES, BOOK SEVEN IS REALLY LONG "I LOVED IT" AND SO IT HAS TO BE WELL FILMED, YOU GOT MY VOTE WB GO FOR.
I AM SO GLAD WB IS DOING PH. FILMS THEY ALWAYS KNOW WHAT TO DO AND WHAT RIGHT...
I totally agree with Kim.
I totally agree with Kim. The intermission i could handle although it should be more like 30 min. I am so willing to sit through a 5 even 6 hour movie with intermission. True Harry Potter fans will not care much of the time but of the content. If it is two parts the most i could handle between the two part would be a month , but even they are not that stupid. from rereading the article though it seems like they are thinking of viewing it as two movies though i cant see where they would divide it. Now that i have heard this there i no way i am going to settle for less than 3 hour movie, i mean if people cold handle Pirates 3 they should be able to handle HP7.I cant even wait for the 6th none less the 7th.

Maybe WB will do what Grouch
Maybe WB will do what Grouch II Film Partnership did with The Matrix's last 2 installments. I believe they were about 3 months apart. This makes more sense for 2 reasons. 1. More revenue - viewers will have to pay 2 separate times as opposed to once (with the intermission). 2. Only hard core fans will sit through 5+ hours of this movie. I'm a huge fan so heck, I'd stay for 8 hours. But for the average person, they would just choose to watch another movie and be guaranteed to leave the theatre in about 3 hours. I don't think WB is willing to take that chance.
i thought that they would
i thought that they would hav 2 do this. the book is not 2 long (the fifth was longer) but it has 2 much info. the movies leave out things so that people can sit through the movies. but they cant realy leav anything out of the Deathly Hallows so they hav 2 make 2.
wow that's so
wow that's so great!!!!!!!!!!
