Katherine Heigl Wants Off Grey's Anatomy
Katherine Heigl is all too eager to ditch the TV show that made her famous in favor of her lukewarm film career. The rumor now circulating is that Heigl wants producers of "Grey's Anatomy" to kill off her character - Dr. Izzie Stevens - because she doesn't want to be known as just a television star, and would like to work in movies full-time.
With "Knocked Up" and "27 Dresses" now under her belt, the moderate success has gone to her pretty little head.
According to the National Enquirer, a friend of Heigl has said that the actress suggested to producers that "they killer her character Dr. Izzie Stevens in a dramatic fashion so her exit could bring in huge ratings."
Heigl has also now formed a production company with her mother, Nancy, who is also her manager, and, according to her friend, is now swamped with movie offers.
Nevertheless, Katherine won't be able to rid herself of the small screen that easily. With an ironclad contract with Touchstone and ABC intact for another two whole years, it'd take a miracle or a big lawsuit for her to gain freedom.
Before starting any more squabbles on the set or filing any lawsuits, Heigl should think back to her very recent appearance as a presenter at the Oscars: she performed horribly. With a cracking and shaky voice, Heigl was very clearly a bundle of nerves.
She says, “It was kind of surreal. I just felt very out of my league, you know? I was sitting behind Cate Blanchett and Jack Nicholson and sitting next to Renee Zellweger. I kind of wanted to get out my iPhone and take pictures.”

kathrine did a pretty good job at the oscars every actor has nerves and katie did an alright job although i dnt want her to leave grey's although i'm a mcdreamy and christina fan shes a well loved charcter stay on grey's katie

an incredibly bitter article, i must say.
personally, i'd be devastated if heigl left grey's anatomy before the whole show was finished, but i agree that she has great potential for a movie career. i would hope that movie offers would still "swamp" her even after grey's finished.. so she wouldn't have to leave at all. but it's her decision to make.
Ever hear of a show called
Ever hear of a show called Roswell? That show bit the dust due to infighting backstage led by Heigl, who wanted to be the star. Well, at least now she's not trying to destroy GA like she did Roswell. Maybe if she's off GA, I can finally watch it.
A little tidbit for GA fans that don't understand her diva attitude - she's been like this since before Roswell. All she cares about is being 'the star' and making it big, no matter who she has to step on.

Katherine destroyed Roswell hah, wow she's one powerful yound girl of 22 old yrs. Even the 4 leads actors of that show whom you worship as if they're your gods can't save that show no wonder you're so bitter. 4 against 1! and the show still get cancel. I'm impressed, be it at your nerve to lie about something you didn't know as fact or by how powerful Katherine is. Wow!
