Shania Twain and her husband, Robert Lange announced last week that after 14 years of marriage they had split. After their seperation was announced, Lange, 59, said that "it's literally just a growing apart, that's all." However, People Magazine now claims to know otherwise.

According to People, Shania and Robert's split isn't simply a case of growing apart.

Shania, 42, has spent much of the past eight years out of the public spotlight living in Switzerland. But sources close to the pair have said that a third party was involved in the split: Marie Ann Thiébaud, a married longtime secretary and the manager of their chateau in Switzerland.

According to the source, Marie and Robert both left their spouses to be together, and are still currently in a relationship together.

Lange, however, denies the claims, stating, "It’s absolutely not the reason [for the separation]." He also denied that he is involved with Marie: “I’m not, no,” he said. “It’s not true," he said.

Shania and Robert have one child, a six year old son, Eja D’Angelo.
