Rescatame, Seventh Day Slumber

Rescatame, Seventh Day Slumber
One of Christian rock’s newest head bangers, Seventh Day Slumber have compiled their material from their three previous releases to create a Spanish-language album entitled, Rescatame. “Desperate” starts this disc off with tons of distorted guitar licks, sharp bass lines, rich snares and a harmonic stream of vocals perpetuating this track. They turn it down on “Hombre Nuevo” as its sensitive nature both inspires and brings this great essence of positivity in its flow. It has that new metal ballad flavor of bringing the tones down while still retaining its bite.
“De Camino A Casa” continued the sweetness from their souls as it was another acoustically-driven melodic romp and well-known Argentine Christian pop rocker Pablo Olivares lent his vocal prowess. Seventh Day Slumber gives us a tender power ballad with “Carolina” as its seductive and charming with its captivating melody structure, strumming guitar pattern and orchestral presence illuminating throughout its tone. They returned to the rock on “
Quisieron Quebrarme” with its heavy beats and sonic instrumentations.
They get back into the singer/songwriter mellowness with “Sabados” as it’s an extremely heartfelt refrain full of deep tenor vocals, guitars and whisperings of percussion creating this tear-stained feeling. Yet another tender composition was offered up to end this album with “Haces Mares Al Llover” as it was truly beautiful and was pure listening pleasure. The only detriment to this recording is for fans whom aren’t fluent in Spanish, but surely any true fan of Seventh Day Slumber would appreciate the passion and musical talent translated on each song. Rescatame perhaps could gain Seventh Day Slumber some excellent cross-over success in the Latin world and still maintain their credibility as a great American rock group.
