Babe Ruth's Granddaughter Tells Major League Baseball to Honor Baseball's Biggest Star

If you know anything about the history of Major League Baseball their is little doubt that the most important forefather is George Herman Ruth. Not only the best left handed pitcher of his day, "The Babe" transformed the game of baseball into a power hitting game. In 1927, when he hit an astonishing 60 home runs, Babe Ruth hit more runs in the month of September then the Cleveland Indians did throughout the year. Despite the fact of his greatness, Major League Baseball has downplayed the significance of the great Bambino in recent years.

In 2006, Major League Baseball discontinued the "Babe Ruth Award" which was awarded to the MVP of the World Series. Now, Babe Ruth's granddaughter Linda Ruth Tosetti wants more recognition from MLB. She has asked that the league honor her granddad by retiring the number 3, which Ruth wore with the New York Yankees, like they have done with Jackie Robinson.

If you agree, like me, that Ruth deserves to be recognized as the father of modern Major League Baseball you should head over to the website that has been created to help urge Bud Selig and the powers that be to honor the Sultan of Swat. Baseball wouldn't be half the sport it is today without Babe Ruth and he should be remembered forever for his contribution to the game.

Bud Selig opened the

Bud Selig opened the floodgates when he retired Jackie Robinson's number. If Robinson's number is retired, there is no doubt that the most important person in the history of the game should be honored as well. Without Babe Ruth, baseball would have died a slow death after the black sox scandal.
