Former XM Radio VP Eric Logan Joins Harpo

Eric Logan, a veteran radio industry executive, has just been named the new executive vice president at Harpo. Harpo Productions president Tim Bennett made the announcement today.

The executive vice president role is a newly-created position. Within this role, Logan will oversee several divisions within the company, such as Harpo Radio, Harpo Print and Harpo Retail. Furthermore, he will help Harpo expand its digital and mobile initiatives, as well as help manage the company's talent relations efforts.

Logan, who joins the company from XM Satellite Radio, where he was the executive vice president for programming and broadcast operations since August 2004, will begin serving in his new role in mid-August. Prior to joining XM, Logan also served as president of programming for Citadel Broadcasting, and served for a decade at Infinity Broadcasting in a variety of roles, including vice president of programming.

Of his new job, Logan said, "I'm very excited to be joining Harpo at time when the future for the company has never been brighter. The opportunity to work with the entire organization on ways we can further grow our content offerings across all our platforms and showcase our talent portfolio is truly an opportunity of a lifetime," said Logan.

Harpo Productions produces The Oprah Winfrey Show and operates oprah.com. In addition they develop and create original television programming for primetime, syndication, and cable TV. Harpo Print publishes the monthly O, The Oprah Magazine and the quarterly O at Home. Harpo Films Inc. produces feature films and TV movies under the "Oprah Winfrey Presents" tagline. Harpo Radio produces Oprah and Friends on XM Satellite Radion channel 156. Harpo Retail is composed of The Oprah Store and its companion website. Recently, Harpo partnered with Discovery Communications to launch a new cable network, The Oprah Winfrey Network, which is set to launch in 2009.
