Convicted Murderer Scott Peterson Has a Blog

Remember the name Scott Peterson? He was the California man found guilty of murdering his wife, Laci Peterson, who was 8-months pregnant with their child. In 2005 he was sentenced to death by lethal injection, but as of yet, he remains on death row in San Quentin State Prison. Yet somehow this convicted criminal has managed to set himself up a blog.

Peterson does not have access to the internet from inside his prison cell. Rather, he's had some help from the outside. An organization known as Canadians Against the Death Penalty have provided the blog for him in hopes that it will eventually change the law for the death penalty.

Peterson's blog features photos of himself and his wife Laci, both smiling. It also links visitors to his family's support site, and other resources with information about his case.

Prisoners are not permitted to have direct computer access, as officials say that could allow them the opportunity to threaten witnesses or orchestrate further crimes. However, like anything, there are ways around this. Supporters and verious commercial services have helped many of the state's 673 condemned inmates make the connection to the web. Many of the inmates have pen-pal postings and personalized web pages with their writings, artwork, and photos of themselves. Many of these sites also include declarations of innocense and pleas for friendship and money.

Some of the inmates use sites in the United States, but so far the biggest provider is the non-profit Canadian Coalition Against the Death Penalty, which has created web pages or pen-pal ads for more than 100 California death row inmates. Their service is absolutely free.

Civil libertarians applaud this kind of activity as the exercise of free speech by isolated people, however, not everyone is so accepting. Victims' rights activists have labeled it an unneccessary affront to the loved ones of those whose suffering led society to lock them up in the first place.

But with prisoners having mail privleges, it is nearly impossible to stop things from going out. And once mailed out of the prison, anyone on the outside could post the information on their behalf.

It's truly unfortunate that

It's truly unfortunate that the residents of California have to feed Scott Peterson with their hard earned tax dollars. Rot away Scott!

What the?

I Dont know why all this sudden fuss and news of this? Scott peterson has had a blog up for atleast 3 years now!
Cmon Media reporters do you know your research?
: )

Jesus

Scott,
I was just wondering what your relationship with Jesus is right now. Do you pray or read your Bible? Have you asked for forgiveness?

Rot Scott!

Too much hoopla for this lying killer. Just like OJ, the only difference is OJ walked free where as this idiot will die in prison. Rot Scott, when you stand before your creator you can not lie to him. Be prepared for the worst for what God can do to you mankind can't. You can lie but can not hide!

Death Penalty....

I think that the Death Penalty should be overturned. I think it is barbaric practice! No more or less barbaric than the crimes that these murderers commit. The only reason that these people are put to death is because Humankind's lust for vengance and nothing more. In summery, in light of this, I think that Death Row Imates have the right to communicate thier case either directly or indirectly to the public to plead their case. Killing murders dose not solve anything period!!!

response to death penalty

Oh contrare. I have an idea . . . . ., lets take all the people that believe in the death penalty and exempt them from paying taxes that support cold blooded killers and let's get all you bleeding heart liberals who don't believe in the death penalty to support their pathetic lives! Better yet . . . , why don't you let the likes of Scott Peterson into your home under house arrest and you feed him, cloth him, provide shelter and entertainment for him. Whats the matter with you?

Death Penalty

Yes, it is truly the lust for vengeance. Until you face a loved being murdered, raped, brutalized--- you have no say. Its easy for you to sit there and say- please dont kill these animals. Well, even the animal world thins those that arent right. Until you opt to pay for the incarceration for life of each one of these murdering dogs, shut up.

Scott Peterson

The death penalty is like letting them off - to rest. Put him in an old mine shaft if the tax dollars are too much but don't execute the cretin.
Put bars at the top of the shaft and dangle some delicious delicacies with mouth watering aromas just short of his mits.

I am on Laci's families

I am on Laci's families side. I actually tried sign her guest book today, but found out the family had to close it due to the disrespect of some guests. Will this family ever find peace. I hope Scott Peterson is miserable and only has time to think about what he did to his wife and child, not to mention everyone that knew and loved them. He is a piece of shit

Against The DP

I am also against the death penalty. It is just state sanctioned murder. As for Scott Peterson.......the case against him.....oh, there was NO CASE. He was convicted by the media. Just like back in the 1960's in Cleveland; Dr. Sam Shephard.
