Keno Comes to Cleveland and the Rest of Ohio Today

Ohioans will have another gaming opportunity with the introduction of Keno in local bars, restaurants, bowling alleys and race tracks today. Keno is a game similar to both the lottery and bingo. 80 ping pong-like balls which determine the outcome of winning and losing wagers after players choose. 20 balls are drawn and the more numbers that you pick the numbers you can win.

750 establishments throughout Ohio are launching the game. Numbers will be drawn numbers drawn every four minutes, 221 times a day, seven days a week.

What is KENO?

Keno is a draw game which offers a wide variety of prizes.

How is KENO played?

Like other Ohio Lottery games, Keno would follow a pool style of play, with the wagering and drawings managed by a central computer system.

Players would place their wager with the retailer, who would process their requested wager through a single terminal at the establishment.

Players select their numbers with a bet slip or by requesting the Auto Pick option.

The Lottery will select 20 numbers from a pool of 80 (01 to 80).

Players have the option to play up to 10 spots.

Players can win various prizes by matching their numbers to the 20 numbers selected by the Lottery.

The top prize for a $1 wager that matches 10 of the 20 selected numbers is $100,000.

Where will KENO products be sold?
KENO products will be available only at Lottery Retailers that hold a valid Class D Liquor Permit for on-site consumption of alcoholic beverages and that meet Commission Regulations.

When will KENO be sold?
Sales and cashing will be active with all online products at 6:00 a.m. The first drawing will take place at 11:04 a.m.

How often will drawings take place?
Drawings take place every four minutes from 11:04 a.m. until 1:44 a.m.

Where are the numbers displayed?
Each Retailer will have a monitor which displays the numbers as they are selected at the primary data center. The display is uniform across the State of Ohio.
