Circuit City Can't Take a Joke, Orders All Copies of Latest Mad Magazine Destroyed
The folks at Circuit City apparently lack a sense of humor. Corporate headquarters has issued a decree telling store managers to "destroy all copies" of the latest issue of Mad Magazine.
Issue #492 pokes fun at the electronics retailer with a 4-page spoof of their weekly ads. Consumerist.com got the scoop from an anonymous tipster, who also forwarded a copy of the corporate e-mail.
Check out the one-page preview of the Circuit City spoof. To view the other four pages you'll need to purchase a copy of the magazine.

So how come you dont do some research and realize that Circuits prices are 85% lower or exact with Blue Box? Or at least do an equal spoof on Best Buy.....?
All Hail The Geniuses at Circuit City
I'm probably a lot closer to Circuit City's core demographic than the 8 to 17 year olds that read Mad Magazine. I would have never seen this parody if they hadn't over reacted and wasted their stores time with a moronic decree from the Ivory Tower.
Quick destroy all Mad Magazines before people figure out we stink.
As a leadership team, if you had any confidence in your operation, you would have laughed and then featured Mad's freckle faced cover boy in your ad next week.
I sense some folks will be pursuing other opportunities soon.
