McCain Considering Lieberman for VP Running Mate
According to The Financial Times, presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain is considering Joe Lieberman as a possible running mate this fall. Citing an unnamed adviser, the paper said that the now independent senator from Connecticut is being considered because of their shared positions on Iraq, Israel, and other issues.
The adviser told the paper:
"[McCain] loves Lieberman. And he is on the [short]list because Lieberman has never embarrassed anyone, never misspoken. The first rule is, don't take anyone who costs you votes."
The adviser did acknowledge that it would be quite an unorthodox choice, considering that Lieberman continues to caucus with the Democratic majority in Senate. Should McCain decide to choose Lieberman as his VP, it would also likely meet with great resistance from some elements of the GOP.
The adviser commented, saying:
"Conservatives would be p---ed as hell - I think you would have a revolt, but sometimes John does what John wants to do."

Leiberman? Are you serious?
If he chooses Lieberman I think that Obama will be the next president. I am a conservative Republican and I would prefer to see Romney as the VP. But if Senator McCain doesn't choose him I won't vote for the next president. I will obstain. I've never done that before. And, obstaining will help the socialist Obama.
I'm sick of the Republican party not listening to their base and instead being all about personal gain for the politicians. Fine, McCain, you go ahead and select Lieberman and you'll be watching Obama taking the oath of office as he launches a new socialist country like you've never seen before. Thanks so much for being so arrogant and self-serving in such an important decision.

I am a life long republican, but after the path bush has taken our homeland down the drain and is borrowing money in our name to send to iraq, when our own people have no medical insurance, jobs. etc about the only way I would vote republican is if leiberman was VP. actually I would like to leiberman run for president.

I would prefer to see Romney on the ticket, but I have always liked Lieberman. More of a moderate, could bring some votes from the left. But hey, anything is better then having the socialist Obama in office.
Taxes are too high now, good luck if "the Messiah" gets in office. He is here to have the government save us from ourselves. Exactly what I need, the government telling me how to live.
