Ben Curtis Second Place Finish at PGA Earns Him a Spot in Ryder Cup

While many Clevelanders where probably disappointed that Kent State graduate Ben Curtis couldn't secure his second major title of his career yesterday in the PGA Championship he did earn a big achievement yesterday. The second place finish he earned lets the former British Open winner compete in this years Ryder Cup Tournament which means Curtis will team will join fellow Americans against the top European golfers in Louisville, Kentucky next month.

Curtis, while probably wondering what could of been, was pleased that he has made the team and talked about his finish at the PGA Championship saying:

"If you're going to finish second and they tell you that you qualify for the Ryder Cup, I think you'll take it. It almost is a victory in itself. It was a goal that I set."

By finishing second Curtis also earns the right to play in all four majors again next year including the exclusive Masters.
