Hillary Clinton Heads to Ohio to Stump for Obama, But Does She Really Mean It?

Senator Hillary Clinton is headed back to Ohio this weekend, where she will campaign for the Democratic presidential candidate, Barack Obama. Ohio is a key battleground state in the upcoming general elections, where Clinton easily defeated Obama in the primaries.
In recent weeks Clinton has spent a good deal of time campaigning for Obama in Florida, but as a victory there looks less and less likely, she's moving out and re-focusing on Ohio. On Sunday Clinton will be back in the Buckeye State where she has planned rallies in Akron and Lorain.
In focusing on areas that are already heavily Democratic, one can't help but wonder if Clinton is copping out, feigning support for Obama while plotting her own run at the White House again in 2012. It seems to be a pretty plausible scenario, especially with Clinton shying away from directly attacking Sarah Palin, John McCain's running mate.
Failing to come out at Palin with guns blazing, Clinton is backing out of the battle for the white, working-class women that largely supported her during the primaries. Polls now indicate that some of these women are now supporting the McCain-Palin ticket. And while Hillary Clinton might not be fighting to keep these women with the Democratic Party this fall, the Democratic Party itself isn't blameless - they selected Joe Biden as Obama's running mate, alienating and infuriating many Clinton supporters.
Clinton may be headed to Ohio to campaign on Obama's behalf, but at this point, it's unlikely she'll sway any undecided, Independent, or Republican voters. Like Obama himself, it's all a facade.

So fair & balanced!
Am I the only one really scared of McCain/COULTER...er Palin? I am a Christian but do not want the extreme right to try to speak for me...She really is so extreme and wants to teach intelligent design in schools and to "pray the gay away." I think we'll have a theocracy based on her fundamentalist credentials (and I hear McCain was pressured to picking her--scary that they can do that now, I can only imagine what happens with a McCain/Palin administration)...
It is a Liar that Palin pray the gay away. Don't be fool by Librals liying!!!! the Librals just want to damage her.
It is a LIE that Palin PRAYS the gay away. Don't be fooled by THE LIBERALS' LIES. The LIBERALS just want to damage her.
Come on, Sue!! Learn some grammar and how to spell. Nobody will take you seriously.
Do you prefer Gay marriage and baby killing?
It appears that some people are not smart enough to see that if Obama chose Hilary, McCain would not have chosen Sarah Palin.
If Obama had chosen Hillary, the GOP smear attack machine would have come after her with a vengeance. Remember, Hillary did not disclose information about the Clinton Library contributors. The GOP had over a 1000 pages of opposition research to use against her. They would have brought up every Clinton scandal known to man. And let's not forget, Hillary has a civil lawsuit against her regarding not reporting illegal campaign funds.
Obama had no choice.

I agree that if you look more closely at Palin's social conservative records, she is a bit extreme in her beliefs. Even the Palin fan does not deny her beliefs regarding intelligent design and moreover, her fundamentalist beliefs are very much against gay persons (her church is affiliated with a so-called 'ex-gay' pray the gay away movement). I think she is a poor choice and is insulting to those who like Hillary. McCain might as well have put Anne Coulter--and in effect, he did. No on McCain/COULTER (or Palin)
I'm not sure what to be more disturbed by, the fact that the media is so in the tank for McCain that they keep recycling these stories enough to make them self-fulfilling prophecies, or the fact that some otherwise intelligent voters, especially women voters, are apparently so stuck in the identity politics of the '90's that they are unwilling to accept the reality that Obama won because of his energy, freshness, and trustwothiness on the Iraq war, still the number one issue to many Dem loyalists. After 8 years of Bush, people are starving for change, and Hillary Clinton represents a change of party but for many not the break from the past people are craving. Love her or not, Hillary Clinton lost a major part of the Democratic base because she helped authorize an unjust and immoral war of aggression, and some voters who love her nevertheless saw her as a divisive figure who would rally the Republican base and be harder to get into the White House than Obama. Sure, there was some sexist media coverage, just like there was some racist media coverage against Obama, but that's not why she lost. Before abandoning the Dems, please remember you're playing into the hands of Rush Limbaugh, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, and Jerry Falwell. Please don't think by sinking Obama this year you can get Hillary Clinton in 4 years, because if so I'm afraid I'll be trying to persuade bitter Obama supporters not to abandon the Dems, and again the Republicans will win because they are better at overcoming divisions. Unfortunately, our planet and the human race can't tolerate Democrats being divided--we have a moral responsibility as Americans to make intelligent choices because we live in an age of perpetually increasing complexity with literally billions of our fellow humans dependent on our presidential choice. Please don't focus narrowly---the survival of the human race may depend on this choice. Please also consider which candidate would do more for women. Think about the composition of the Supreme Court and the implications for Roe vs. Wade.
play together the right way, they can be very dangerous. But for now, it’s still Kobe’s game and he’s making sure everyone knows it.
