McCartney Threatened Over Planned Performance in Israel
When Paul McCartney revealed plans to perform in Israel at the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the country's founding, an Islamic extremist threatened to kill McCartney if he follows through. McCartney is scheduled to play his first-ever concert in Tel Aviv next week, a country that even the Beatles were banned from back in their hey-day amid fears that they might corrupt the country's youth.
Israeli officials have stated that they will defend McCartney and his right to perform in the country. If he will not be left alone, as they have asked, Israel has vowed to stop the radicals at all costs.
An Israeli official told "The Sun" in England, "Anyone who tries anything will be meeting Allah sooner than they thought."
To protect the former Beatle and ensure his safety, Israeli officials are bringing in their famed secret service agency, the Mossad, who will guard McCartney as he performs on September 25. This comes following a statement from Muslim extremist leader Omar Bakri in which he said that McCartney would be punished for his appearance and made the target of suicide bombers.
"Our enemy's friend is our enemy. Thus, Paul McCartney is the enemy of every Muslim. We have what we call 'sacrifice' operatives who will not stand by while he joins in a celebration of their oppression. If he values his life, Mr. McCartney must not come to Israel," Bakri told The Sunday Express of London.
McCartney, however, seems not to be bothered by the threat and will carry on as intended:
"I was approached by different groups and political bodies who asked me not to come here," McCartney told Israeli media in a weekend interview. "I refused. I do what I think, and I have many friends who support Israel," he said.
Bakri was the leader of Al-Muhajiroun, a London-based Islamic organization with the goal of creating a worldwide Islamic state starting in Britain. He fled the United Kingdom in 1995, and was subsequently prohibited from returning.

Paul McCartney
I was devastated to read that Paul McCartney has had his life threatened. He does not represent politics, only peace and wonderful contributions to the world in music and honor.
He is so important to all the world, not just to Israel, the US or Great Britain. He would be pleased to entertain the Muslim world as well.
I am terrily upset to think he is even being considered as a target by terrorists. He is not the enemy. He wouldn't know how to be.
Thank you for letting me share my thoughts.
