New Poll: 61% of Youth Vote Projected to go to Barack Obama

MTV and USA Today conducted a survey the 17th and the 22nd of September which found that 61% of voters 18-29 plan on voting for the Barack Obama-Joe Biden ticket in the Presidential election next month. 903 people participated in the survey and it showed that 75% of respondents were registered to vote.

Here are among the more interesting results of the poll:

82 percent agree that this election is among the most critical in recent history.

32% said that Sarah Palin was not qualified for the job as Commander and Chief

25% of young people said that the economy was the number 1 issue that they were voting for this year.

More respondents in the poll said they would like a peek at John McCain's personal diary than Obama's.

74% of the voting block said that they know someone serving in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Want to know more about the polling data? The poll is USA Today's feature story in their edition of the paper today. More information can also be be found at ChooseorLose.com.

Do you think that the youth vote will turn out this year or let the Democratic Party down once more? While the enthusiasm seems high this year with younger voters doesn't it always seem that the numbers of youths that want to take a part in the election process never match up to what is hyped in the media before the election takes place.
