It was deja vu all over again. The Cavaliers, who blew a big halftime lead in their first pre-season game against the Toronto Raptors two days ago, and did so again tonight when the visited the Boston Celtics tonight Providence, Rhode Island.
The Cavaliers jumped out to a 37-28 lead against the defending NBA Champions who knocked Lebron James and his teamates out of the playoffs last year after a hard fought 7 game series. Speaking of "The Chosen One", James had a phenomnel game scoring 15 points in only 13 minutes and graabbed four boards in his limited duty. Wally Szczerbiak also had a hot hand for the Cavaliers knocking down 4 of 5 shots for 13 points in 21 minutes of play. Mo Williams added 10 with 7 dimes in the losing effort.
The Celitcs reserves proved to be the difference outscoring the Cavs 23-15 in the final stanza. Ray Allen led all scorers tonight treating the home crowd to 25 points. 9,444 attended the game which was played at Dunkin Donuts Center.
The Cavaliers play the Celtics again on Tuesday night when the teams meet in Pittsburgh at the Petersen Events Center. The match-up can be heard locally on WTAM 1100.
