Obama Infomercial to Delay World Series Start Time

Last week Barack Obama purchased 30-minutes of prime time airtime on CBS and NBC, and was looking make further purchases at ABC and FOX. At the time, a FOX airtime purchase was considered unlikely due to the World Series which would be airing. It seems however, that Obama waved enough cash and FOX was willing to negotiate, giving him the primetime slot he desired.

Obama's 30-minute infomercial is set to air on October 29 at 8pm on CBS, NBC and Fox. As a result, the start time of Game 6 of the World Series would be pushed back by 18 minutes. Major League Baseball signed off on moving the first pitch of Game 6 to accommodate Obama's infomercial.

Changing the time of the World Series has angered many Republicans. Republican National Committee spokesman Alex Courant said, "It's unfortunate that the World Series' first pitch is being delayed for Obama's political pitch. Not only is Obama putting politics before principle, he's putting it before our national pastime."
