Isiah Thomas Said to Have Been Hospitalized After Sleeping Pill Overdose, But He Denies It

After rumors of a possible overdose at the home of Isiah Thomas without any official confirmation that it was Thomas himself involved, all signs are beginning to point that it was in fact the former NBA player and coach. Although Thomas has denied it, sources claim that he was hospitalized Friday after overdosing on sleeping pills at his Westchester, NY mansion.

According to the sources, Thomas downed 10 Lunesta pills before becoming sick.

However, when reporters reached him by cellphone in the afternoon, Thomas denied the claims and instead insisted that it was his 17-year-old daughter Lauren that was having an issue, but insisted it "wasn't an overdose."

However, Thomas' story doesn't quite add up. Police said earlier that a 47-year-old man was taken Thomas' home to the White Plains Hospital Center following the summoning of an ambulance and police around midnight.

Thomas told reporters that there was an "incident" on Thursday at his daughter's school, and asked them to call the school to get more information. However, when the NY Post called the Rye Country Day school, the woman who answered said:

"I don't know what [Thomas] is referring to," the woman said. "We know of no incident regarding a student and the police."

The dispatcher who took the 911 call also referred to the person as a "46-year-old male", not a 17-year-old female as Thomas claims.

Sources claiming to know the true story said that Thomas was unable to sleep, and took two sleeping pills. That didn't work, so he kept taking more. He was reportedly "unconscious" when paramedics arrived on scene, but was breathing on his own. He is said to have had his stomach pumped while at the hospital.
