Genesis Releases Huge Box Set of its Early Years from 1970-1975

Long before Phil Collins made Genesis a radio staple in the 1980's the group was a Progressive Rock force with fellow superstar Peter Gabriel manning the duties on lead vocals in the early 1970's. I honestly I had heard a lot about their formative years through older associates but was unaware of the music that the group made at the time. My questions were answered with a sampler disc of the enormous 13 disc set (7 CD's and 6 DVD's) that hit record stores today. While I had a quizzical look on my face with comparisons to Yes and Pink Floyd, now I know that this wasn't just some urban legends about the same musicians who would play such traditional tunes that became top 40 hits. The release features a lush remastering of the tracks in 5.1 surround sound which really work with the bands sound.
