Phil Dawson the Hero for the Browns With Late 56 Yard Field Goal to Capture 29-27 Win Over Bills

The Cleveland Browns stand at 4-6 following a win 29-27 over the Buffalo Bills wild Monday Night Football contest that saw a lot of drama in primetime. The Browns narrowly escaped becoming the first team in NFL history to blow three leads of 13 or more points in consecutive contests when a Ryan Lindell field goal sailed right with seconds to go to seal the win for Browns. Phil Dawson had just moments before put the Browns ahead in the game with a long 56 yard field goal in a game that saw leads exchange in the final three minutes.

Brady Quinn played mistake free football for the Browns throwing 36 times while completing 14 for 185 yards. The highlight of the night was Jerome Harrison;s 72 yard touchdown run in the third quarter while Braylon Edwards grabbed 8 Quinn passes for 104 yards in the victory. The Browns defense forced Trent Edwards into three first half interceptios which helped the club jump to a 13-0 lead in the first half but the team nearly blew the lead letting the Bills back in the game that proved to be back and forth for much of the second half.

The teams played back and for football with the Bills looking like they were going to steal the game with a touchdown late in the fourth quarter that put them ahead 27-26. The Browns failed to die as they drove to the 39 yard line setting up the field goal that proabably saved Romeo Crennel's job as a pink slip may have been awaiting him if the team had blown another sizeable lead. Crennel's heart probably skipped a beat when the Bills managed to drive for a makeable field goal but the last chance effort by the Bills sailed right and dropped the team to 5-5 and put a giant dent on any playoff hopes that the team was clinging to coming into the game tonight.
