Browns Offensive Stars Talk to Press in Berea

Three members of the Cleveland Browns offense, which helped put 29 points up on the scoreboard in the victory on Monday, talked to the press. Brady Quinn's main concern is improving his pass efficiency after his 14-36 outing. Braylon Edwards talks about building timing with the new timing with his new signal caller. Jamal Lewis addresses the fact that he has not had a 100 yard game yet in the 2008 season. Here is what they all said on the variety of questions posed to them:

Brady Quinn (On where he can improve)

“I think overall just passing efficiency. I think that’s something that hurt us in the game. Also communication on different things. If you look back at the green zone for us, (we) didn’t really convert as much as we’d like to. Obviously we were getting field goals but we want touchdowns. Third down efficiency, just need to pick up a few things here and there.”

(On plays getting away from them)- “I don’t think plays got away from us. We just didn’t convert on things that we needed to. Buffalo did a good job of game planning us and stopping certain things. I think we hurt ourselves looking back at it, whether it was a ball here or a ball there, my throw or somewhere where we weren’t just able to punch it in.”

Braylon Edwards

(On his rhythm with Brady Quinn)- “He is coming into his own, learning the system and getting more comfortable back there. Having (Kellen Winslow), myself, Jamal (Lewis) and some other guys in there, he is just relaxing and letting the game come to him.”

(On winning at home)- “We have got to start making plays at home. We have the opportunities, we have been in the situation where we could have gotten victories at home, but we are not finishing or at least we didn’t finish those games. We have got to come out and play four quarters worth of football. Football is not always pretty as you saw on Monday night but if you finish and stay the course you win ball games.”

(On keeping momentum after the win)- “Two things we have to do is one, we have to build on it. That was a win that possible could have saved our season. A lot of people including yourself don’t believe we have a chance. We have some games left and we have a chance. The main thing we have to do in order to capitalize on that is take it a game at a time. I think a lot of times you get ahead of yourself, you might get a big win against the Giants and then come back against the Redskins and lose one. What we have to do is appreciate the win, move forward and just play a one game season. We have Houston coming up we don’t have Houston, Indianapolis, Tennessee and Cincinnati. We don’t have that. We have Houston, we can only play one game at a time.”

Jamal Lewis

(On not having a 100-yard game this season)- “Opportunities have to present themselves in order to get that. At the same time you have to be able to get those carries in order to get those numbers. I was always taught if you get 25 carries a game and get 4 yards a carry, there’s 100 yards. I’m not complaining about it. I am not looking for it. If it comes it comes, but at the same time I just hope we can execute well.”

(On when he is at his best)- “I do my best work when I get a feel for the defense and get adjusted and see how they are playing. That’s how I am. I like to get comfortable with my offensive line and see how they are taking on the blocks with whoever we are playing. It doesn’t matter how many carries just how long does it take to get adjusted to what the other team is doing.”

(On Jerome Harrison)- “I think we compliment each other very well. With me being a power back and I can also have breakaway speed to get away and make the home run. With him, you can’t approach him the same way you approach me as far as tackling, the scheme and what you try to do to stop his progress. Its two different styles, he is more of a scat back. He is smaller and a quick back and it’s different.”

(On what the win means)- “My confidence has always been there. I think the biggest thing is it told our team that we came back and kept fighting. We came through with a victory and it is something we needed to get done.”
