Brady Quinn Talks About Injured Finger After Browns Practice

All eyes are on Brady Quinn as the quarterback is dealing with a broker finger that he says happened in the second quarter of the Buffalo Bills game. Quinn plans on playing with the injury on Sunday and a splint will be placed on it when the defense on the field.

Quinn said about the injury today:

“Basically I am sure you guys have heard what Romeo said, I banged up my finger Monday night. I think it was the first quarter. I hit it again later in the second quarter. At this point it is a little sore. I practiced yesterday, (I am) practicing today. We are just doing the best we can to take a little precaution and make sure it’s alright and that’s pretty much it.”

Hank Fraley said that news suprised him and that no one even knew that Brady was hurt during the game.

“I really did not know. He looked fine. If you didn’t say a word to me or anybody in this locker room, I don’t think any of us would even known. You have really got to ask him how he is feeling. He seemed fine and threw the ball fine.”

Head coach Romeo Crennel also gave an update on the other bumps and bruises that the team is dealing with.

“(Lawrence) Vickers is going to try to do something today so he’ll be out at practice doing a little bit. (Willie) McGinest, Shaun Rogers, (Eric) Steinbach, Corey Williams and Jason Wright will be out there trying to do a little bit. Those guys who were in yesterday will be out. Guys who will not be out are Jerome Harrison, Sean Jones, Shaun Smith and Kellen Winslow. The doctor, he will be in later on today and evaluate those guys and let us know more about what we think their game status will be.

Crennel then adressed what is on everyones mind by turning the attention to Quinn's injury saying:

“He gripped it pretty good yesterday. He didn’t seem to have a problem with the grip yesterday and he was throwing the ball yesterday and didn’t seem to have a major impact on the way he threw. I’m not exactly sure which hit it was, but he got pressure on him a couple times and on his follow through, he hit a helmet. I’m not sure which one it was or at what point in the game. It was just a bruise as far as we knew and so it was sore after practice so the training staff, because it was still sore, they said okay let’s get an x-ray just in case, as a precaution. They took and got an x-ray after practice yesterday evening and then took him to the hand specialist this morning.”

Asked if you could be risking further injury by playing Crennel admited that there was a posibilty of that happening saying:

“Possibly if it gets hit again, there’s a possibility of more damage there. That’s why we’ll have to monitor it to see and if it gets worse then something else might have to get done about it or he might have to wear the splint all the time or we might have to sit him at that point.”
