The Cleveland Leader Night Out at Cleveland State University; CSU Vikings vs. UIC Flames Men's Basketball Game
Come join the writers and readers of The Cleveland Leader for our first of many Cleveland Leader Nights Out. The inaugural outing will be held Saturday January 10, 2009 at the Wolstein Center in downtown Cleveland as the Cleveland State Men's Basketball team takes on the University of Illinois Chicago Flames.
Tickets are available at a special group price of just $5 each, and are not available at the box office at this price. If you are interested in attending, please send us an email at clevelandleader@gmail.com with your name and the number of tickets you'd like. Even more reason to go is the fact that each Saturday, which is when the contest will take place, the team has a FREE KidZone, $1 hot dog night, and great giveaways!
The more we can get to the game the better! It's time for Cleveland to stand up and support our hometown team, and we want to be there to cheer them on to yet another victory. This promises to be an outstanding year for the Vikings, who've been predicted to win the Horizon League Championship. Be a part of the magic.
How intriguing is this matchup? Both CSU and UIC find themselves in the Mid-Major Top 25 where the Vikings place 8th and the Flames stand at 16th.
CSU Vikings vs. UIC Flames Game Preview:
UIC is a quality opponent and a contender for this years Horizon League title. The Flames boast senior guard Josh Mayo who was named as Pre-Season Player of the year in the conference. The team has been a giant killer this year on the court knocking off big school basketball powers such as Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech on the road this season. The Vikings would love your support to lead them to victory in a game that will undoubtedly have ramifications come conference playoff time in March.
The Vikings have showed that their preseason ranking was warranted by knocking off the #11th ranked Syracuse Orangeman at home with a highlight that was played on ESPN's Sportscenter and Monday Night Football. Now is your chance to see what all the excitement is about!
Tipoff for the mens game is set for 7:30 and you will want to come early to catch the Lady Vikings take on the Flames at 5:00 as the game is part of an exciting doubleheader!
