Charles Barkley Arrested on Suspicion of DUI

Charles Barkley was arrested early Wednesday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence. A police officer assigned to a law enforcement task force targetting drunk driving spotted the former NBA star running a stop sign at approximately 1:30am.

Gilbert police Lt. Eric Shuhandler said that Barkley declined to submit to a breathalizer test, but was given a blood test. After being processed, Barkley was cited and released. According to the officer, he left in a cab.

Results from the blood test were not yet available.

Barkley was arrested in the Old Town area of Scottsdale, Arizona, a trendy spot in the Phoenix metro area.
