Internet Killed The Radio Ad?

Advertising are fleeing radio and flocking to World Wide Web. Reports are showing that by 2008 more advertising dollars will be spent on Web than on radio. It was first thought that the slowdown would only be print media like magazines and newspapers but now the Web has taken a major bite out of radio too. This is probably because more and more people are getting their entertainment from sites like youtube and Internet radio. Google seems to be the big winner in the whole change in makeup. For some reason, Internet giant Yahoo!, continues to lose track while Google is eating away at their market share.

Another factor in the decline in radio's loss of advertising is most likely satellite radio. As more people switch to XM and Sirius satellite radio the worse it will be for on air providers. The pinch in radio is nowhere near as bad as that seen in the newspaper industry, which seems to get bleaker as time marches forward.
