Obama Snubs Nation's Heroes, Becomes the First President to Skip Ball Honoring Medal of Honor Recipients in Over 50 Years
Barack Obama may have stumbled over his words briefly during his inauguration, but he made an even bigger blunder later Tuesday evening. The newly sworn-in President opted not to appear at what should have been one of the most important Balls on his agenda that evening - The Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball.
The Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball was begun in 1953 for President Dwight Eisenhower's inauguration. The event recognized recipients of the Medal of Honor, the nation's highest military award. There were 48 Medal of Honor recipients in attendance, who were undoubtedly disappointed by the Commander-in-Chief's failure to show. Over the past 56 years and 14 inaugurations, no President has skipped this event - until now.
The Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball is sponsored by the American Legion, and co-sponsored by 13 other veteran's service organizations, including those such as the Paralyzed Veterans of America and the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
Instead of attending this ball honoring our nation's heroes, Obama was busy making stops at 10 other official balls. Obama and his wife's first stop was at the Neighborhood Ball. From there they went to the Home State Ball for Illinois and Hawaii, the Commander-in-Chief Ball, the Youth Inaugural Ball, and the Home State Ball for Delaware and Pennsylvania. They finished off the night with brief appearances at the Mid-Atlantic, Western, Midwest, Eastern, and Southern regional Balls.
Celebrities were a plenty at the balls, with Stevie Wonder, Shakira, Mary. J. Blige, Faith Hill, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine, will.i.am, Sting, Mariah Carey, and Leonardo DiCaprio in attendance at the Neighborhood Ball. In addition, the other nine balls also featured a star-studded lineup including Kanye West and Kid Rock at the Youth Ball, Marc Anthony at the Western Ball, and Cheryl Crow at the Western Ball.
It was the party without all of the celebrities that Obama skipped. The very people who he sought to have support him during his candidacy and campaign, who have fought to protect this country, were snubbed in favor of publicity and the opportunity to rub shoulders - yet again - with the out-of-touch Hollywood elite.

This quote from an unknown souce sums up what it means to be a veteran, it barely scratches the surface of what it means to be a Medal of Honor recipient. Every president in history has attended this ball, even slick willy. Obama may as well have spit on them as far as I can see, he couldn't have been more insulting to them. The only thing he cares about is profiling for the media. I saw this coming when he started his campaign. This man will never have my respect.

Obama is a brilliant person....thus he knows, thinks through and calculate each of his move...therefore his missing the "Salute to Heroes" Inaugural Ball is unlikely a miss(take), rather another deliberate planned out decision....for reason(s) only left to all to guess...but I am stopping here. A side issue is...did he serve in the US military before? And for those who have, knows to a certain degree of certainty - there is a big difference in worldview/paradigm for those who have and have not....keep this piece of data in your file if you happen to be interested to monitor Obama....time and each detailed event all adds up to tell the story,..now we can all risk our guesses.

Anyone who thinks that 9/11 was an inside job should have their drivers licenses revoked, because they are clearly too mentally unstable to process things as an adult. If they argue, they should be encouraged to move to Mexico. If they don't move to Mexico, they should be encouraged to fall on their swords.

Work to Do
President Obama has inherited a giant US situation: from global matters to the terrible recession in our home town. The man only has 24 hours in a day. And he's only human. I think considering our current affairs - especially with so many people out of work and struggling in this economy - it's forgivable for the President to not attend. I'm sure his nation will benefit from it.

On a different note, speaking of conspiracy...where were the wings from the jet that hit the Pentagon among other debris that you would expect? Strange how it hit the newly reinforced portion of the building...all I saw was a large hole...similar to a missle strike...
I don't doubt that planes hit the towers though...but I think it odd how they both came down within minutes of each other as if they had been carefully "imploded". C'mon, buildings have been hit by large jets before and didn't come down, I believe it was the ESB and it was hit by a WWII bomber and burned for almost a day...I also doubt that it (Emire State Building) was a superior building as far as design and engineering. In knowing this, how could an intelligent person not at least question the evil behind these acts and not accept face value as the truth...all rocks need to be over turned and looked upon...including our HONEST politicians with in our own government...because they would NEVER lie. All i have to say on this matter and a few comments that were posted above is this; I am currently preparing for my 3rd deployment in 5 years mind you .. and one of those deployments was 18 mnths so do the math on how long i have had to "live" in the States in my own home and not out of a damn duffle bag.. When i heard that he did not attend this particular ball i was floored. How could someone the person that is sending me back over there for a 3rd time not give the honor and respect due to those who have given up their lives, familys, and freedom to make it possible for all of us to be here? it has nothing to do with if you have or havent served your country it is how you respect those who have given everything for your chance to have freedom. In him not attending this inaugural ball says to me directly that no matter what you do for your country live die earn this medal of honor it still wont matter to me because you are just not that important to give you your time to be openly HONORED!!!

It is funny laughing at all the people freaking out about this. The mere thought that if he doesn't attend something then he doesn't care about it is ludicrous. The president is a busy man and he is handling hard times. He can still respect the people who fought without being there. The most likely reason that President Obama did not go to the "Salute to Heroes" inaugural ball is because it was held in the Renaissance Hotel which consists of 16 floors. There was an event called the "Illinois Party - Presidential Event" held at the Renaissance the night before that the then-President-elect did not attend either. Given the amount of time and resources it would have taken to clear a 16 floor hotel as well as protect it while President Obama was inside, I can only guess that he was advised by his Presidential Protection Detail not to attend either inaugural ball because of the building and the inherent problems in securing and then protecting it. The sheer number of people crowding the streets and staying in the hotel surely presented a formidable screening problem as well. But, there's your story... it's not as cold as "Barack Obama Hates The Military" but it is the truth as best I can tell after doing some research and educated guesswork about why a security team wouldn't want to protect a principal in the Renaissance with more than 2 million extra people in Washington D.C.
It would appear that, according to Stars & Stripes that Obama had some Medal of Honor recipients at an inaugural ball that he did attend.

Why I'm wondering....? Wouldn't it have been important enough of an event to plan it more appropriately so that he could have attended without security at such high risk??? MEDAL OF HONOR !!! THESE MEN AND WOMAN DESERVE ATTENDANCE FROM THEIR COMMANDER IN CHIEF ! I just don't understand. I understand the security concerns most definitely... but come on, have the event where it would be possible for him to be there period. Not showing is just not right.
