Some Catholics Furious Over President Obama Giving Commencement to Notre Dame Graduates
A Catholic group are raising issues about Barack Obama giving the commencement address at the country's most well known Catholic University Notre Dame.The dissent of President Obama, who overturned abortion regulations as his first act in office, has spawned a website by the group called notredamescandal.com. So far, the site has had 28,000 people come to the site to sign a petition against the President's appearance on May 22nd in South Bend.
The petition itself reads:
It is an outrage and a scandal that 'Our Lady's University,' one of the premier Catholic universities in the United States, would bestow such an honor on President Obama given his clear support for policies and laws that directly contradict fundamental Catholic teachings on life and marriage.
Notre Dame University says that it stands by the decision. Rev. John Jenkins, the President of the school, says he will not rescind the invitation and by having Obama address the graduating class does not mean that they condone or endorse Obama's positions.

Catholic Hypocrites
Apparently, George W. Bush's policy concerning a unilateral war that's killed or relocated hundreds of thousands or millions of Iraqis (not to mention the loss of more than 4,000 American soldiers) doesn't "contradict fundamental Catholic teachings on life."
But, then again, what do you expect from a group of people who are more concerned with the wellbeing of the unborn than they are with the living, and who consciously and willingly shuttle their own children into a den of pedophiles.
Catholic Hypocrites
American Catholics must be a queer bunch. They actively supported Bush's war which has no led to the deaths estimated from 150,000 to a million innocent Iraqi civilians. It has led to the death of 4,260 US young lives lost...That is ok I guess for the so called pro-lifers some of whom are also pro-death penalty. They are selective pro-lifers; they did not heed what the Pope said about the war or the death penalty. I don't even want to refer to how Paedophiles were shifted from parrish to parrish.
