Kentucky Derby Champion Alysheba Passes Away at Age 25

For the second time this month, the sport of kings mourns the loss of a champion of the most prestigious race in the United States. Alysheba, who won the "Run for the Roses" in 1987, passed away at age 25. Earlier this week, the passing of Kentucky Derby champion Lil E. Tee was announced.
The Bay colored colt fell in his stall at the Kentucky Horse Park and could not been saved. He will be buried across from fellow Thoroughbred racing legend John Henry.
