Maurice Clarett Chimes in on the Donte Stallworth Situation

Former Ohio State Buckeys football star Maurice Clarett, who is serving time in the Ohio Penitentiary system for robbery and other crimes, is the latest blogger to chime in Cleveland Browns fallen star Donte Stallworth who will likely face charges of DUI and vehicular manslaughter when toxicology results are revealed later this week. Clarett writes on his blog which is keeping him occupied while behind bars::

“I haven’t been interested in sports seriously since 2003 but I am familiar with who Donte is. I wasn’t aware of the situation when I received the question but became educated on it as the week passed. I believe that the situation is unfortunate for both parties. I think there is a lot to be learned and I hope and wish the best for everyone involved. I know what it is like to lose a loved one in a car accident and I know the stress that comes with your life being in limbo and prison potentially being in your future. Both situations are very uncomfortable.”

The Warren, Ohio, native also says he has put his past differences aside about the Buckeyes writing:

I currently do not have a problem with OSU. I have a greater understanding of what took place now that I am removed from the University. I put youth, egos, ignorance, pride, the OSU brand, lack of resources and many other things into the equation when evaluating my past. All emotions in regards to OSU are removed these days. Once my story of how things came to be prior to prison is released then it will all make sense. Events will be put into the proper context.
