Christina Aguilera Lands Her First Lead Movie Role
Singer Christina Aguilera will take on a new frontier in the very near future - movies. She's landed her first lead movie role as a burlesque dancer in an upcoming film called "Burlesque."
While Christina has snagged some small acting roles in recent years - with cameos in Shark Tale (2004) and an appearance as herself in the forthcoming film Get Him to the Greek - this will be the Dirrty singer's first leading role.
She is now said to be in negotiations to take on her first full length project in the new movie Burlesque, which is written by Steven Antin, brother of Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin.
Also rumored to be a part of the movie is Dancing With the Stars' professional Julianne Hough, who is said to be in talks to star alongside Aguilera as a pregnant showgirl.
Burlesque is set to begin filming in 2010. A rep fromt he studio confirmed that the movie is in development, but said it is "too preliminary to comment on" casting.
Burlesque is due to begin filming in January 2010.
