Ron Paul Fuming Mad Over "Bruno" Film Trickery
Sacha Baron Cohen isn't making many friends with the devious antics and trickery involved in the filming of his latest movie, "Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable in the Presence of a Gay Foreigner in a Mesh T-Shirt." The latest to admit to having been tricked into appearing in the upcoming film by the British comedian is U.S Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX), who was one of the 2008 presidential candidates.
Last summer, Paul was left fuming mad when Cohen conned him into a seduction scene with his gay fashion journalist character Bruno. He admits that he was lurred into an interview by claiming to be a financial reproter, and then "Bruno" proceded to disrobe in front of the shocked politician.
Ron Paul, however, only just this week went public with his outrage after seeing himself featured in a trailer for the upcoming film. Speaking with ABC radio, Paul said:
"We were in a studio situation, I wasn't invited into a hotel room. There were lots of lights and blaze and commotion and they said we better get in this back room which had been fixed up as a bedroom.
"So there was some dishonesty getting me into the interview, I was expecting an interview on Austrian economics. That didn't turn out that way.
"By the time he (Cohen) started pulling his pants down, I was like 'What on earth is going on here?' and I ran out of the room. This interview had ended. I don't like the way he lies his way into interviews. That to me is fraud."
This is not the first time that Cohen has been scrutinized for his filming antics. He and studio bosses were threatened with legal actions by various members of the public who claim they were manipulated into appearing in his 2006 film, Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.
Bruno is set to be released this summer.

Cohen has created a ruse with the end result of smearing the reputation of the victim. However, Cohen has punked a politician who has a lot of support among many in Cohen's fan base who admire Rep. Paul's anti-politician reputation. Not a wisely calculated move.
Ron Paul is right to say that that was a fraud. Cohen lied. Yes, Ron Paul was tricked, but he handled it quite well. He didn't over-react. If Bruno strips in front of your average Joe the Plumber type of heterosexual male, he will be punched straight in the face. Cohen is sick. People who watch his movies are also sick.
How is he fuming mad? He is laughing throughout. Obviously, he did not appreciate it, nor does he enjoy the type of comedy Cohen is known for, but "fuming" mad he is not. He has much more important things to worry abuot.
Way to be a good sport about all of this Ron Paul you the man!! Can't wait to see you in the movie HAHHA
I wouldn't call that fuming mad.
The two criminal acts were:
Fraud - of Rep. Paul as well as the audience.
Criminal Sexual Conduct - indecent exposure

Ron Paul handled this very well and honestly.. I think Cohen is funny, but I do also think he is dishonest and I give him less credit than I used to. Having to fool people all the time to different extremities for jokes is not very respectable. What should you do when someone pulls their pants down in front of you? I would probably sock them in the face if they weren't my friend..
