Concert Review: The Killers Show in Cleveland

This concert review is difficult for me to write because I think The Killers are amazing and it's hard to find words to describe how incredible their shows are. Every time I see The Killers perform it is better than the last. Last night was my third time seeing them and they still are my favorite band to see live.

I just want to mention quickly that even the stage looked awesome last night. The lighting and effects were nothing short of fabulous. A little bit of Las Vegas lighting brought to Cleveland for one night.

The Killers opened the show with "Human" and everyone was immediately singing along. I was expecting the opening song to be from "Day & Age", and it was. It's great going to a concert when you know every word to every song, and so does everyone else in the audience. The energy and excitement level was so high.

They played a good mix of old and new songs including "Mr. Brightside", "Spaceman", "Somebody Told me", and "This is Your Life" (one of my favorites from "Day & Age"). Each song flowed into the next with little or no break in between. Personally I love all three albums and thought there was a good mix from all three. Not only do I love listening to the music at the show but I love watching Brandon Flowers move around the stage. He is so enthusiastic and passionate when he sings. It's exciting to watch his movements and facial expressions. He gives additional character to each song making it so much better than listening to the album at home.

Brandon seemed to talk to the crowd more at this show than he has in the past. When he started speaking I actually said to my husband " he's talking". I've attended two other performances and I don't think that I've ever heard Brandon talk. It was nice to hear a few words for the lead singer. He kept his words to a minimum and continued to rock on.

I have to admit I was slightly disappointed Flowers wasn't wearing any fur or feathers for this show. Usually his outfits are kind of far fetched. This time he was dressed all in black.

"All These Things That I've Done" is and always has been my favorite song by The Killers. This was the last song played before the encore. In the past they have played this song towards the end of the show and I was happy that it still fell in that place. In my opinion this song is much better live than on the album.

Of course The Killers came out for an encore which included the song "Bones". They ended the show with as much energy as they started with and played "When You Were Young". I knew this was the end and every part of me wanted them to continue playing. The show just wasn't long enough for me. Although, I don't know what would be long enough because I think I could literally sit and watch them for days. I just can't get enough of The Killers.

If you could only see one band perform in your lifetime I would highly recommend that it be The Killers. You won't be disappointed, I promise.

Great Show

I was at the concert in Cleveland on May 6. It was my very first concert, and I don't think I could ever see a better one.
They were amazing. And I almost caught a drumstick thrown after All These Things That I've Done. If only I were taller.
The energy in the crowd was insane! I felt incredible and ecstatic just to be there.
I was especially happy that they played Jenny Was a Friend of Mine because it is my favorite!
Amazing band.
I was really sad that it had to end, but I listened to Hot Fuss the entire ride home (over an hour).
I will definitely be attending one of their shows again in the future.
The only thing that could have made the night better was if I could have gotten an autograph but the band was no where to be found after.

The Killers

Hi Cleveland from all in the UK,
Great review. On the money. The Killers are the best live band in the world now that Brandon has develped his self confidence further.
We saw them again in February in Cardiff ,Wales and the whole place rocked from start to finish. They are over here for outdoor festivals soon and my daughter is going to catch up with them in Benicassim,Spain, however I reckon "inside performances" see them and their audiences at their best.
Keep up the good work,
Jim
P.S.I think Brandon should leave the feathers in the wardrobe! Black is the new black!

Hey, I was at Cardiff with my daughter as well - what a fantastic night!!! As you say, definitely the best band live at the moment and we've seen a few!! We're looking forward to a 'Killer sandwich' this summer as we are starting off with them at Hyde Park, then a few other bands and finishing off with TK at V Fest. Have to agree with you that their inside shows have the edge over the larger outdoor events. Still enjoying the feathers though!!

The Killers - Cleveland review.

What a great review, I love The Killers especially Brandon Flowers. They are com ing back to the U.K. soon and I shall be following their every show. Over the years they have just got better and better and I love all their albums. Brandon writes the most amazing songs and his voice is just beautiful. I have just been listening to a new song called Tidal Wave and it is going round and round in my head like so many of their other tunes including 'Human'.

Yes, Tidal Wave is such a

Yes, Tidal Wave is such a beautiful song - can't believe it is a 'b side'. There is a FANTASTIC acoustic live version of this on youtube if you haven't already seen it. Roll on the summer and Hyde Park!!!

Who was the band that opened

It was Chairlift.

Brandon Flowers is the best

Brandon Flowers is the best frontman ever! Even though he does show after show, he still puts his all into each one and never lets you down! I hope the Killers will be around for years to come.

The Killers

My son and I saw this concert Wednesday night, and we're still not down from it. It was incredible, unbelievable! We saw The Killers in 2007 in Cleveland, and were impressed with their show. This show was even better. Brandon Flowers sounds terrific live, and has so much energy onstage. We were in the 4th row on the side, and so close we could see his expressions. The way he uses his hands is wonderful. The sets were good, and they mixed the right amount of songs from each album. It was GREAT! GREAT! GREAT! I just wish it had gone on all night...and I can't wait until they tour again and come back to Cleveland...

This is EXACTLY how I felt

This is EXACTLY how I felt when I saw them in January of this year. It was my third time seeing them too =)
I just can't get over how amazing this tour has been, I wish with all of my heart that I can get the opportunity to see them again before this US tour finishes

Detroit show

I loved them but it was too loud...way too amplified!!! Don't Kill us Killers with the amps....I want my eardrums when I am very old...

Tidal Wave

Ann – I've never heard Tidal Wave. I will have to check that out.

I'm hoping to catch The Killers again sometime this year in a different state. I just can't get enough of them.

The Killers - T in the Park

The Killers played T in the Park in Scotland on Saturday, 11/7 and they were absolutely mind-blowing. I love this band and think Brandon is a Rock God. He is handsome, talented and a superb singer, what more could one ask for? Every show is a classic and I could watch him for ever.
