Toyota to Debut Hybrid Truck at Detroit Auto Show

Toyota unveiled photos of a new Hybrid truck that will be displayed at the Detroit Auto Show. The new truck will be smaller than a Toyota Rav4 and be similar in style to their rival Honda's Ridgeline.

The Toyota A-BAT will seat four and is 15 in length which is 9 inches shorter than the Toyota Tacoma. No word on what the fuel economy or towing capabilities.

Toyota has not said when they plan to produce the new pickup truck but with its futuresque look it would likely win over buyers who are looking for an environmentally friendly car that has the functionality of a pickup.

Going Green Not a New Concept to Porche

Porsche is displaying their 108-Year-Old Porsche Hybrid at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The engine is considered the forerunner to today's gas/electric vehicles. The company produced the vehicle at the turn of the 20th century and does not produce any emissions.

The old hybrid will be placed next to the new Porsche Cayenne which will feature the latest hybrid technology.

The company's first hybrid is making its first voyege to North America. The old car is on permanent display at the Technical Museum in Vienna.

Making its debut soon at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show will be the completely re-designed Pontiac Vibe, the company's popular cross-over vehicle. Also making an appearance in Pontiac's 2009 line-up is a sportier, more performance-oriented GT model.

Other than this one photo, very little is actually known regarding the specs of the new Vibes. The new 2009 Pontiac Vibes, including the GT models, will be available in dealerships beginning in early 2008.

$400,000 Limousine from Ferrari Debuts in England

This is one those "wouldn't it be nice stories". Ferrari has converted their 360 Modena into a $400,000 limousine. Featuring doors that bring back the days DeLorean, the 360 Modena limo is a real head turner. The limo debuted this week at the European Limousine and Chauffeur Show in Manchester, England.

As you may expect, the Ferrari is fast. It is touted as the fastest limousine in the world at 170 MPH and 0-60mph in less than six. My question is, what would the hurry be? Wouldn't you want to be seen in this awesome machine?

The 360 Modena seats 8 passengers and their "gull-wings" are 9 feet high. If you can scrape together 400k for one of these, remember where you heard about it and offer me a lift.

Porsche Unveils the New Cayenne GTS

Making an appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany this week is the new Porsche Cayenne GTS, which fits nicely into their line up of SUVs between the Cayenne S and the Cayenne Turbo.

The new GTS model will feature a 405 horsepower V8, revised suspension, and 21-inch wheels. Based off of the Cayenne S, the GTS will sport a new aerodynamic body kit and will be significantly lighter than the Cayenne S.

The Cayenne GTS also features second-row bucket seats instead of the Cayenne's standard bench. The Cayenne GTS will be available in just two colors - GTS Red and Nordic Gold Metallic - and will hit U.S. showrooms in February 2008 with a sticker price of $69,300.

Also at the Frankfurt show, Porshe will be showing off a transparent Cayenne hybrid concept car. Don't get too excited though, the first Porsche hybrids likely won't hit the market by the end of the decade.
