Judge Orders Roman Polanski to Return to the US

Roman Polanski has lost his fight to avoid extradition to the US after having been on the run since 1978. A Los Angeles judge has ruled that he must return to the states on charges of unlawful sex stemming from a late 1970s incident.

Polanski, 76, was arrested in Zurich last year, and has since been under house arrest at his chalet in Switzerland. Meanwhile, his lawyers are fighting to prevent him from being extradited, arguing that he should be sentenced in his absence.

On Friday, January 22, 2010, a judge decided that Polanski must return to the US for sentencing. His legal team is expected to appeal the ruling.

Woman Accused of Stealing from Paris Hilton Wears a Necklace Stolen from Lindsay Lohan to Court

A woman accused of breaking into Paris Hilton home was charged on Thursday with additional counts after she appeared in court wearing a necklace stolen from Lindsay Lohan. Courtney Leigh Ames, 19, was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property.

The amended complaint accuses Ames of wearing a necklace stolen from Lohan's home to a court hearing in December, where she pleaded not guilty to burglarizing Hilton's home. Ames attorney Robert Schwartz said:

"She was wearing a necklace. The issue is whether she knew it was stolen."

While Ames has been charged with receiving stolen property, she has not been charged with the August break-in at LiLo's home.

Prosecutors also claim that Ames received a leather jacket belonging to Paris.

Ames is one of sic people that stand accused of being a part of a theft ring that targeted celebrities' homes and stole high-end fashion and jewelry. Other victims of the burglaries include Orlando Bloom, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Audrina Partidge, Megan Fox, Rachel Bilson, and Ashley Tisdale.

Diana Tamayo, another of the six accused thieves, also got added a receiving stolen property charge. She is suspected of receiving Chanel makeup from Bilson's home.

Jay Leno to Reprise Role as Tonight Show Host on March 1st

After NBC decided that Jay Leno's 10pm show was a massive failure, they revealed that they would like to move him back to the 11:35pm time slot he used to have when he was the host of the "Tonight Show." Since Conan O'Brien took over the hosting duties more than a year ago, that meant that his show would get bumped and wouldn't start until after midnight. That obviously didn't go over well, and O'Brien negotiated a deal to remove himself from the network altogether. With O'Brien out of the picture, that left the "Tonight Show" without a host. Who better than to take it over than Leno himself.

Hollyscoop got ahold of a press release that NBC Universal Entertainment Chairman Jeff Gaspin will be sending out later today. It said:

"NBC confirmed today that popular late-night host Jay Leno will return to host “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” from 11:35 p.m.-12:35 a.m. (ET) beginning March 1, 2010 and that “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” will continue to be broadcast from 12:35-1:35 a.m. (ET).

“We’re pleased that Jay is returning to host the franchise that he helmed brilliantly and successfully for many years. He is an enormous talent, a consummate professional and one of the hardest-working performers on television.”
