Demi Moore Pulls Out of Linda Lovelace Biopic

After having been rushed to the hospital on Monday for so-called "exhaustion", which is Hollywood code for drug or alcohol problems, actress Demi Moore is dropping out of the Linda Lovelace biopic, "Lovelace."

Amanda Seyfriend nabbed the film's title role, after Lindsay Lohan left the project more than a year ago amid her own personal troubles. Moore was supposed to play famed women's rights activist Gloria Steinem in the film, which is being co-directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman.

Production began shooting in December, but it's unclear if Moore had filmed any scenes.

The film also stars James Franco, Peter Sarsgaard, Adam Brody, Sharon Stone, Eric Roberts, Hank Azaria, Juno Temple, and whoever will end up being Demi's replacement.

"Desperate Housewives" Creator Squashes Hopes of a Movie Spin-Off

While "Desperate Housewives" creator Marc Cherry says that the series finale will leave a few loose ends hanging, he warns against fans waiting for a reunion movie. Cherry said that eight seasons had given the hit ABC series time to "plumb the depths" of the characters, who are played by Felicity Huffman, Teri Hatcher and others in the ensemble cast. The show's final episode will air this spring.

Cherry says that he is currently very happy with where the series stands. Comparing Housewives to HBO's "Sex and the City", which did fewer episodes and had two movies, the second of which was largely a bomb, Cherry said "I'm just never sending these gals to Dubai." (Referring to the Middle East set of Sex and the City 2".)

Cherry gave little away in terms of how the series will end, but noted that some "old, familiar characters" will return, but maintains that the rest is a secret and "I'm being hyperprotective of it."

However it ends, the ending is one that Cherry has had in mind since the show first went on air. The show's writers are embellishing his version, but he says that "the general premise has always been the same."

Cherry also says that he's going to pull a Hitchcock, making reference to Hitchcock's tradition of showing up in its film. He says:

Another Movie Set to Be Filmed in Cleveland in February

For a few months last year, it seemed like one movie after another was filming here in Cleveland. There was "The Avengers", "Fun Size", and "I, Alex Cross", just to name a few. It appears as though the trend will continue in 2012, as word now comes that a new movie is set to film in Cleveland next month. So far little is known about the movie, which is currently known as "Hall of Fame", other than it will start filming downtown next month.

News of the film arose when an email from Lillian Pyles Casting was released to a people who were involved with a previous project in Cleveland. The email didn't give away much about the movie, other than offering up a list of characters to be featured in the film. Much of the email is about the casting process for the film.

In addition to seeking out extras, the production crew is also looking to fill 95 speaking roles.

If you're interested in appearing in the movie, you'll need to submit a photo of yourself along with a biography or resume to halloffamemovie@yahoo.com. You'll also need to include your age, height and weight in the email message. The subject line should include which character you'd like to audition for.

Warner Bros. Planning to Make Netflix, Redbox & Blockbuster Wait Longer to Get New Movies

In an effort to try to get more consumers to buy DVDs of their new releases and combat slow DVD sales, Warner Brothers will soon be making us all wait longer to rent the films on services like Netflix, Redbox, & Blockbuster.

Until now, there was a 28-day delay between the launch of a new film on DVD and it becoming available on streaming services or at kiosks. Warner has struck a new deal with Netflix, Redbox & Blockbuster that will double the wait time to 56 days. The only reason they've increased the wait time is to try to give DVD sales a boost.

It wouldn't be surprising if other studios began following suit and increasing their wait times as well. It will be interesting if the move does in fact increase DVD sales, or if consumers still don't buy the DVDs.

I hate to say it, but the death of the physical DVD is drawing nearer and nearer. I myself would never buy a DVD for about 99.9% of films because they're disposable and not something I'm ever going to want to watch again. If I am going to pay $15 to watch a film, it'd be at a theater. Lengthening the time before its DVD release and when its available on streaming services for me would only mean I'd probably forget about it once the 56 days lapsed.

Demi Moore Signs on to Play Gloria Steinem in Linda Lovelace Biopic

Demi Moore has officially joined the cast of "Lovelace", the biopic film of porn star Linda Lovelace. Moore will play feminist Gloria Steinem, who in real life was an outspoken opponent of the porn industry.

Adam Brody and Eric Roberts have also joined the cast. Amanda Seyfriend is playing the role of Lovelace, which she snagged after Lindsay Lohan was fired from the job. The cast also includes Peter Sarsgaard, who plays her husband, Chuck Travnor, and Hank Azaria as Jerry Damiano, the director of "Deep Throat", the most famous porno movie of all time. Bobby Cannavale, Chris Noth, Sharon Stone, Juno Temple, Wes Bentley, Romeo Brown and Robert Patrick. James Franco will also make a cameo as Playboy founder Hugh Hefner.

Steinem was a major critic of all forms of pornography and wrote a profile of Lovelace for her magazine, "Ms.", detailing how the actress was coerced and beaten into making porn.

"Lovelace" is currently shooting in Los Angeles and is being made with the the cooperation of the Lovelace estate.

Louis Vuitton Sues "Hangover 2" for Using Fake LV Luggage in Film

First the Hangover 2 was sued by a tattoo artist over a fake Mike Tyson tatto, now the film finds itself in legal trouble over some luggage. Louis Vuitton is suing Warner Bros. for using knock-off luggage and claiming that it's the real thing.

Louis Vuitton wants them to alter the luggage in the DVD. They probably got the idea from the tattoo artist, who was successful in getting the tattoo changed and procuring some hush money.

The lawsuit was filed on Thursday in a New York federal court. LV alleges in the filing that the firm has been damaged after Galifianakis's line "careful, that's a Louis Vuitton" became a catchphrase. Producers for the film apparently used a knock-off made by the Diophy group of companies, which is also being sued by LV to prevent it from selling its goods in the U.S. In summation, Vuitton is claiming trademark dilution, false designation of origin and unfair competition.

Lady Gaga Wants to Play Amy Winehouse in Film Biopic

We all knew that at some point talks would start about making a movie about Amy Winehouse and her train wreck of a life, but who would have ever anticipated Lady Gaga being thrown into the mix? As strange as it sounds, Lady Gaga has expressed interest in playing Amy in a film biopic.

Amy's father, Mitch Winehouse, is reportedly all for Gaga playing the role of his daughter, but says she'll need to start working on her accent now if she wants to pull it off:

"I have heard that Lady Gaga is keen to play Amy in a film," he said. "I don't know what her English accent is like but it's not just an English accent she would have to perfect – it's an English-Cockney-Jewish accent so she better start practising now. But she would be great."

I can't see this ever really happening...but stranger things have been known to happen.

"Breaking Dawn" Birth Scene Causes Wave of Epileptic Seizures

If you have a tendency towards epileptic seizures, or are worried that you may, you might want to avert your eyes during the infamous birth scene in the latest Twilight series film, "Breaking Dawn." The scene has been blamed for triggering seizures in movie theaters across the U.S.

The film contains a graphic scene in which Bella gives birth to her vampire husband Edward's child.

Brandon Gephart from Roseville, California, was watching the movie when he started convulsing. He only remembers waking up on the theater's floor, prior to being rushed to the hospital. His girlfriend, Kelly Bauman, was terrified.

Similar incidents have now also been reported around the country. A man in south Jordan, Utah, blacked out during the film, and his wife reported that he was shaking, mumbling and blinking rapidly.

The symptoms seem to emerger during the birth scene, which includes flashes of red, black, and white.

Epilepsy specialists say that seizures may be brought on by flashing red lights in those predisposed to photosensitive epilepsy. The phenomenon is more common in video games than films, and game makers no longer include strobe effect lights in games. In dark theaters, the lights flashing is more like a strobe light.

Sylvester Stallone & Klitschko Brothers to Make "Rocky" Musical

Sylvester Stallone is teaming up with boxing champs Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko to create a musical version of the legendary boxing film "Rocky".

At a press conference held in Hamburg, Germany, late Sunday evening, Stallone, 65, said:

"I've always thought 'Rocky' had the right stuff for a musical and have wanted to do it for a long time."

Stallone said that he wants the musical to focus on the love story. Tony-award winning songwriter Lynn Ahrens and composer Stephen Flaherty will write the musical score, which will of course include the film favorites "Eye of the Tiger" and "Gonna Fly Now." The Klitschko brothers will produce the show and will also train the lead actor to ensure that he authentically represents a boxer in training.

The Ukrainian Klitschko brothers reside in Germany and between them have a combined boxing record of 99 wins and 5 defeats (as of Sept. 2011).

George Clooney & Noah Wyle Are Both Vying to Play Steve Jobs in New Movie

George Clooney, 50, is a contender to play the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs in a new film set to begin filming next year. Clooney's former "ER" co-star Noah Wyle is also being considered for the starring role.

The biopic will chart the life of the Apple entrepreneur, who died last month from pancreatic cancer at age 56. Now magazine reports that filming for the project is set to begin next year.

George and Noah worked together playing doctors in the hospital series "ER", which earned 25 Emmy Awards during its long run on television.
