Miley Cyrus to Appear in Sex and the City Movie Sequel

Miley Cyrus will be making a brief guest appearance in the upcoming "Sex and the City 2" movie, but you'll want to rethink bringing along your children. According to GossipCop.com, the Hannah Montana star will appear in the R-rated movie alongside Kim Cattrall.

In the scene, Samantha Jones wants to look "hot and young", and winds up on a red carpet with Cyrus wearing the exact same dress. Samantha's sidekick Anthony thus yells out "Mother of God. She is wearing the same dress as Hannah Montana." This is followed by embarassment and possible cat fights.

The leaked scene has not yet been shot, but MTV reports that it will be filmed on October 16th. However, fans will have to wait to see if it makes the cut when the film debuts in May 2010.

Diablo Cody to Turn "Sweet Valley High" Books into Movie

Francine Pascal's well-loved series of young adult novels - Sweet Valley High - will be made in a feature film. Diablo Cody, the Oscar winning screenwriter of "Juno" and "Jennifer's Body" has agreed to write and adapt the novels, which Pascal first began to write in 1983, for the big screen.

The Sweet Valley High book series follows the lives of the popular blond Wakefield twins - Elizabeth and Jessica - at Sweet Valley High School in the fictional town of Sweet Valley, California. The series eventually went on to produce over 150 books. The final book in the series, Sweet Valley University, was published in 2003. There were also several spin-off series, and the books were made into a TV show that ran from 1994 to 1997.

Universal is still in talks with the publisher, Random House, to acquire the rights to the series. Therefore, there are not yet any details on who may play the Wakefield twins.

Renee Zellweger to Don a Fat Suit

The popular Bridget Jones film franchise will soon become a trilogy, as producers get ready to begin filming a third installment. Renee Zellweger, however, will be doing something a little differently this time around. Instead of actually eating to gain weight to play the role of the pleasantly plump Bridget Jones and then starving herself to get thin again when filming is finished, this time she will reportedly slip into a fat suit.

For the 2001 and 2004 films she indulged in a high-fat diet. But apparently the weight didn't come off quite as easily the last time, and being older one can't help but wonder how much more difficult it might be this time. In addition, Zellweger has also been warned of the negative health consequences of such yo-yo dieting.

A souce told the UK's "Reveal" magazine:

"Renee will be wearing a fat suit in the third film as it took her a while to lose the weight last time. She's also thinking about the effect quickly putting on and then losing 30 pounds has on her body."

Also returning to the film are Colin Firth and Hugh Grant. The premise of the movie is rumored to be Jones' quest to have a baby in her 40s.

Screen Actors Guild Urges Actors Not to Participate in Michael Jackson Documentary

Bosses at the Screen Actors Guild are warning union members not to participate in the upcoming documentary about Michael Jackson's doomed "This Is It" tour. Sony Pictures purchased rehearsal and behind-the-scenes footage filmed at the Los Angeles Staples Center from concert promoters AEG Live, as Jackson was preparing for his residency at the O2 Arena in London. Sony is planning a two-week run beginning in late October, but SAG leaders announced that the film's producers failed to agree to the minimum basic terms and conditions for performers and background actors employed on the project.

The SAG issued a statement which reads:

"Guild members are reminded of their obligation not to accept employment on any non-signatory project, as well as their obligation to confirm with the guild that a project is signatory. Employment on any non-signatory project within the guild's jurisdiction may subject a member to a Rule One violation."

The union did not have any jurisdiction over the rehearsals or behind-the-scenes footage during filming, but since it is now being made into a documentary movie, they are warning their members not to get involved.

Michael Jackson was due to take the stage in July, just weeks after he died on June 25.

Canton Area Casting Call for Denzel Washington Movie Draws Hundreds

A casting cal for extras for a new Denzel Washington movie drew out hundreds of hopefuls. While some expressed interest in meeting the star, a majority were more attracted by the promise of $100-a-day in pay for those chosen.

Some of the filming of the movie, which is entitled "Unstoppable", will be done at a rail yard in the region. Many applicants came dressed in overalls or engineer's caps. The premise of the movie is a runaway train. Filmmakers were looking for about 50 extras.

Peter Jackson Presents District 9

When I walked into the theater to see District 9, I had no idea what to expect. The trailers I had seen gave nothing away short of the fact aliens would somehow be involved so as far as the synopsis goes, I had no clue. In all honesty, I wasn't sure whether to expect a multi-million dollar Peter Jackson epic or another sci-fi hunk of crap a la Contact (1997). What I got was a little bit of both.

Directed by Neill Blomkamp, District 9 is somewhat a cross between producer Peter Jackson's terrifically terrible 80's alien b-flick Bad Taste and the Hollywood blockbuster Independence Day (1996). Technology has obviously come a long way over the last fifteen years or so, and its quite apparent even within the first few moments of the film.
