One of the all-time greats at Wide Receiver in the National Football League is under investigation for his involvement in a gunfight outside a bar he owned. Marvin Harrison, who has starred with the Indianapolis Colts throughout the decade, was allegedly involved in altercation that started as a fistfight and ended with a man getting shot in the hand. Philadelphia police have questioned Harrison but no charges have been filed in the incident.
Harrison's agent Tom Condon confirmed that his client was questioned but denied any involvement in the gun fight.

Karl Malone and Roger Clemens Have Something in Common......
Submitted by Eugmc on May 1, 2008 - 4:14pm.
Roger Clemens isn't the only person to find himself embroiled in a sex scandal. Former Utah Jazz star Karl Malone is in the news today for fathering a child with a 13 year old girl when he was a sophomore in college. To make matters worse, he told his son named Demetrius Bell, he met the child for the first time when he was 18 and told him he would have to earn money on his own and that it was too late for him to be a father to the child. Malone also fathered twins with an unidentified woman in high school.
Bell apparently did get something from his dad despite him not wanting to be in his life. The Northwestern State star was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the seventh round. Bell will try to make the team as an offensive tackle this year while his father Karl Malone joins Roger Clemens in the Sports Hall of Shame.
NFL Considers Banning Visible Long Hair on Players
Submitted by Eugmc on March 27, 2008 - 9:50pm.
The NFL is considering a ban on the long locks that have become a trend on many of their players the last few years. At next weeks owners meeting in Palm Beach, Fla., teams will discuss the issue that the Kansas City Chiefs brought up. If a majority of owners agree to a rule change, players will have to tuck their hair into the helmets they wear.
Here is a clip of Larry Johnson tackling Troy Polamalu by the hair which happens to be a completely legal maneuver according to NFL rules.
Brett Favre Calls it a Career
Submitted by Julie on March 4, 2008 - 11:45am. Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre has decided to retire, according to various reports. The 17 year career of the quarterback will undoubtedly end up in Canton's Professional Football Hall of Fame as his old school play and Super Bowl wins will be talked about for decades to come.
Favre is doing what few players do and that is go out after a stellar year. After years of sub-par play with lackluster talent around the veteran quarterback, he nearly guided the team to the Super Bowl only to lose in the NFC Championship game to the eventual Super Bowl Champions New York York Giants.
In the mid nineties, Favre was voted to three straight AP MVP's while leading storied Packers franchise to 2 Super Bowls.
HBO Will No Longer Air Popular "Inside the NFL" Highlight Show
Submitted by Leader Staff on February 7, 2008 - 1:46pm.
NEW YORK _ More than 30 years after it began its run on HBO, "Inside the NFL" is leaving the field after Wednesday night's show.
The signature highlights show, a collaboration of HBO Sports and NFL Films , is being dropped by HBO because, unlike 1977 when it began, there are plenty of other places to see those highlights in a world of 24-hour cable, the Internet and the NFL Network.
"It has been a terrific franchise," HBO Sports president Ross Greenburg said. "But the television landscape has changed quite a bit over the last 30 years, and we have to recognize the realities of the business."
Cleveland Browns Derek Anderson and Kellen Winslow Named to Pro Bowl
Submitted by Eugmc on February 4, 2008 - 3:52pm.
Two more Cleveland Browns have been named to the Pro Bowl. Quarterback Derek Anderson and Kellen Winslow have been added to the squad as replacements. The Browns are sending 6 players from their 10-6 team to NFL's all star game.
"We're excited the Browns will have such a presence at the Pro Bowl this year," Browns general manager Phil Savage said. "Kellen (Winslow) has overcome so much in the past two years and is a real catalyst for our team. Derek (Anderson) became the starter under difficult conditions after week one and led us to ten wins and a 7-0 home record. Both will grow from this experience in Hawaii."
Gisele Bündchen Takes Back Her Promise to Run Through Manhattan Naked
Submitted by Julie on February 4, 2008 - 3:21pm.
Supermodel Gisele Bündchen, the girlfriend of New England Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady, had previously said, "If the Pats lose, I'll run naked through Mid-Town Manhattan." Of course now that the Patriots have indeed lost, Gisele is trying to renege on her promise.
According to CBS Sports, she's backing down not because of a fear of being naked in public, but rather, the logistics of such a stunt.
"It was a mistake and I'm sorry I said it. I don't know what I could have been thinking -- Midtown Manhattan is a parking lot any time of day or night. It'd take 30 minutes just to make it from the Theater District to 34th Street. And what if I ran into the Naked Cowboy and had to pose for pictures with every out-of-town Tom, Dick and Harry? Tack on another 30 minutes, easily. How 'bout I simply flashed my breasts from a billboard in Times Square and call it a day ... will that work?"
Remember this for the future: don't make a bet with Gisele because she doesn't pay up!
