OSU vs. Toledo Game at Cleveland Browns Stadium Will Kick-Off at Noon
It was announced this week that Ohio State University's football game against Toledo on September 19 at Cleveland Browns Stadium will begin at noon. The Toledo game will be shown regionally on ESPN-Plus and will be available for purchase on ESPN Game Plan.
Additionally, OSU's game against Navy on Sept. 5 at Ohio Stadium will also kick-off at noon, and will be televised by ESPN.
Their Oct. 3 game against Indiana will begin at 7pm and will be shown on the Big Ten Network, and their Oct. 24 home again against Minnesota will be at noon (TV schedule not yet determined).
It has been previously announced that OSU's Sept. 12 home game against Southern California would begin at 8pm and be shown on ESPN.
Thus far the starting times for five of OSU's 12 games are known.
Last season the Buckeyes were 10-3. Returning will be 12 starters - eight on defense and four on offense.
Maurice Clarett Makes a Move to End Prison Sentence, Prosecutor Still Wants OSU Star Imprisoned

Maurice Clarett has made a request for early release from prison. Ron O'Brien, who is the prosecutor in Franklin County, has recommended that the former star running back at Ohio State stay in prison as he has not presented a strong case that he should be released early.
Clarett wants to pursue a comeback to the NFL and says that he has been contacted by teams willing to employ the troubled star.
Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland and the Ohio Parole Board will have the final say-so in the matter but the recommendation by O'Brien will likely hinder his chances.
The AP reports:
Clarett's attorney, Percy Squire, says his client has an opportunity to play NFL, arena or Canadian professional football if he's released within the next few months. NFL teams have contacted Clarett in prison, but Squire wouldn't identify which teams.
Squire said that while March doesn't seem that far off, time is crucial for the 25-year-old Clarett.
"Whether he is permitted to go in the summer of 2009 versus the summer of 2010 can make a huge difference," Squire said.
"We're talking a matter of months here, but it could have a huge impact on his ability to pursue a livelihood. Waiting another year could basically eliminate any opportunity for him to ever play."
Maurice Clarett Chimes in on the Donte Stallworth Situation

Former Ohio State Buckeys football star Maurice Clarett, who is serving time in the Ohio Penitentiary system for robbery and other crimes, is the latest blogger to chime in Cleveland Browns fallen star Donte Stallworth who will likely face charges of DUI and vehicular manslaughter when toxicology results are revealed later this week. Clarett writes on his blog which is keeping him occupied while behind bars::
“I haven’t been interested in sports seriously since 2003 but I am familiar with who Donte is. I wasn’t aware of the situation when I received the question but became educated on it as the week passed. I believe that the situation is unfortunate for both parties. I think there is a lot to be learned and I hope and wish the best for everyone involved. I know what it is like to lose a loved one in a car accident and I know the stress that comes with your life being in limbo and prison potentially being in your future. Both situations are very uncomfortable.”
The Warren, Ohio, native also says he has put his past differences aside about the Buckeyes writing:
Drug Charges Dropped Against OSU Offensive Lineman Mike Adams
Franklin County Court dropped a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia against Ohio State University offensive lineman Mike Adams. Adams was fined for running a stop sign.
Adams' attorney, Garth Cox, said that a pipe found in Adams' car during a traffic stop on January 14 is used for smoking tobacco, not any kind of illegal drugs. Adams voluntarily agreed to undergo drug testing. The results came back negative, so police agreed to drop the case.
A spokesman for OSU said that Buckeyes' head football coach Jim Tressel is not expected to comment on the matter.
Ohio Star Running Back Beanie Wells Heading to the NFL
Ohio State Buckeyes standout Chris "Beanie" Wells will forgo his senior season and head to the NFL. In his 3 years with the team he ran for the fourth most yards in the schools history amassing 3,382 yards. Wells, who starred at Akron Garfield High School, missed three games this season due to injuries and one wonders if NFL scouts will penalize him because of that on draft day. What is known, however, when Beanie does suit up to play there are few who have ever possessed the combination of speed and power that have played the game. Do you think that the Cleveland Browns will show interest in the area born star if he slips to number 5 considering the age of current starting running back Jamal Lewis?
Boston College Fires Coach for Interviewing with Jets
Looking for another job while you're already working for someone else is always tricky business. Get caught, and you risk getting fired in a lot of cases. And that's just what happened to now-former Boston College football coach Jeff Jagodzinski.
Jagodzinski was fired by the Eagles' athletic director Gene DeFilippo, who followed through on his threat to fire him if he interviewed with the Jets for their vacant coaching position. Jagodzinski, BC's coach for the past two years, was called into DeFilippo's office Wednesday, and was terminated.
DeFilippo said that he wanted a football coach that considered Boston College a destination rather than a way station to coaching in the NFL. After interviewing with the Jets, it became clear that Jagodzinski did not feel the same way.
Jagodzinski, 45, met with the Jets Tuesday night. He was fired the following morning, with three years remaining on his contract. He had replaced Tom O'Brien at BC after spending 22 years as an assistant coach. He was also an assistant in the NFL for eight years before coming to BC as the head coach.

What You Need to Know About Tonight's Fiesta Bowl
Kickoff Set for 8:30 for the Battle Between Ohio State and Texas

Ok, Ohio State Buckeye fans, we know that tonight is a bit anti-climatic after playing (and losing) in the last two National Championship games. The same can probably be said for Texas Longhorn fans who are still steaming from getting snubbed for playing for all the marbles in the BCS Championship Game. But, once the ball is kicked off, all will be forgotten and we both will be rooting for our respective clubs.
The Buckeyes showing in tonight's Fiesta Bowl is very important for the Big 10. The conference has been embarrassed this year only winning one bowl game but a win by OSU can change the perception of a conference on the downward spiral. To get a win as more of an 8 point underdog will be a tough task as Colt McCoy has been on fire throughout the season shredding defense after defense. The Buckeyes will likely pound the ball with Chris "Beanie" Wells and hope that freshman phenom Terrelle Pryor can handle the bright lights on the big bowl stage.
