Angelina Jolie, According to the Gossip Mags

If you're not a fan of Angelina Jolie, you may want to avert your eyes at the supermarket checkout this week. The actress graces the cover of nearly every single one. If you're an Angie-fanatic, it's your dream come true. Here's a summary of what Angie is up to, according to the gossip rags at newsstands Thursday:
OK! Magazine - Angie is adopting a baby without Brad. The adoption rumors will never die, just as her desire to collect more children will never die. The rumor is that she's already picked out a baby from Syria, but Brad says he's not ready for another.
National Enquirer - Angelina fell down because she weighs less so little. She's 5'7" and weighs 104lbs. Following her collapse, Brad is now worried and wants her to get some help to deal with her "emotional demons."
Us Weekly & Star Magazine - Angie still hates Jennifer Aniston. Duh.
Life & Style - Angelina is a total fake. This mag promises new revelations on cheating, plastic surgery and using her kids for publicity.
Emanuel Ungaro Thinks Lindsay Lohan's Fashion Collaboration is a Disaster

Upon seeing the pictures from Lindsay Lohan's first collection as Ungaro's "artistic adviser", Emanuel Ungaro was far from pleased. Ungaro sold the fashion house that shares his name in 2005 and hasn't had any contact with the label since then. At a film festival in Lisbon, he was asked what he thought about the collection.
Ungar said:
"Lindsay Lohan's collaboration was a disaster. I am furious but I can't do anything about it. Ungaro is in the process of losing its soul. That happens to a lot of designers. We were the creators and patrons, responsible for the creation and destiny of our houses. But when we gave up our houses, we gave up our souls."
Well, at least they didn't pay her. Rumor is, she works for them for free.
Lou Dobbs is Leaving CNN

CNN's longest-running anchor on air - Lou Dobbs - is leaving the network effective immediately. The host of "Lou Dobbs Tonight" said Wednesday on his show that it would be his last, and that CNN allowed him to be released from his contract.
Dobbs said that this would enable him "to pursue new opportunities", and that he was considering a number of options.
Dobbs staff members were as taken aback by the decision as his viewers. He only told his staff of his intentions during a meeting Wednesday afternoon.
Unnamed employees at CNN have said that they did not know if Dobbs was moving to another network.
Major Institutional Failures Helped the Imperial Avenue Murderer
Were there failures or absence of institutional and community structure that helped make the mass murderer of Imperial Avenue get away with the killings so easily? Yes, there were.
People ask the question, why didn’t someone notice what was happening? How did this happen right under the noses of the police and the community? Where’s the “community?” What’s the matter with people?
Cleveland neighborhoods have been deprived of many things but likely most destructive has been the purposeful neglect and sometime suppression of community activism over a long period of time here. It has worked its destructive way.
You can’t have an aware, alive community that’s a repressed community.
Cleveland in the 1970s enjoyed strong community activism. There were many problems. But there was some fight in people! Neighborhoods formed their own power bases and community development corporations (CDCs) received federal and foundation funding for neighborhood improvement. People were feeling their power.
But there were flaws that eventually led to failure. It didn’t have to be.
Cleveland is a town with heavy upper institutional power. Lots of wealth. It rules. Not timidly at times.
Shaq's Wife Files Separation Papers

According to court papers, NBA star Shaquille O'Neal's wife - Va'shaundya "Shaunie" O'Neal - filed for legal separation in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday. She cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
Shaq and Shaunie have been married for seven years, and have four children ages 3 to 9. She is asking for an unspecified amount of money for spousal and child support, and is seeking sole custody of the children with visitation rights for O'Neal.
The couple live in Florida, but Shaunie is claiming to be a resident of California, a state with more generous community property divorce provisions. She flew to Los Angeles and claimed herself a resident on November 8, just one day before filing the separation papers.
Shaunie and Shaq have split before. They originally filed for divorce in 2007, but reconciled after the dispute over whether or not he was hiding money from her.
The couple reportedly have a prenuptial agreement.
Rihanna Refuses Drink Bought by Braylon Edwards

While enjoying a night out on the town, singer Rihanna was gifted a pricey bottle of champagne. Not knowing the people who gifted it to her, she sent the drink back.
The $10,000 bottle of champagne was sent to Rihanna by New York Jets' receiver Braylon Edwards and his teammates while they were partying at a Los Angeles nightclub.
A partygoer reports, "She didn't know who they were, so she sent it back."
The Bridge to Nowhere

I read in The Plain Dealer that the City of Cleveland will waste $5 million to build a pedestrian bridge at the opening of North Coast Harbor and I ask, why a bridge hardly anyone will use?
This is to span a little bit of water behind the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, from the tip of a pier on the west to Voinovich Park on the east. Not many people go back there, a few in the summer, none in the fall, winter and spring.
There are a few concerns about the height of the bridge because it will open in the middle and rise 135 feet high to allow boats to pass through. Among the concerns is that it will reach into the glide path of Burke Lakefront Airport.
I'm guessing that it also will be a gathering spot for gulls, whether the bridge is open or closed. Be careful walking across that bridge. You might slip and fall off due to the gull droppings.

John Carney Should Resign From Port Board
The reason we don’t know why the Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority dumped its chief executive Adam Wasserman is because the real leader of the board – John Carney – believes it’s none of your business.
The Port Authority is one of those governmental bodies set up to avoid public input. It has an unelected board. The public, in fact, knows little if anything about its members. Probably cares less.
One aspect of the board has remained rather fixed over the years – the name Carney.
The political head of this powerful family, the late James M. Carney, twice unsuccessful candidate for mayor (once dropped out, once defeated), was chairman during the Port’s early years.
Presently, his nephew John Carney, son of the late judge John Carney, has been on the board for some years. He was chairman. To avoid the limelight or the spotlight, Carney resigned as board chairman. However, it seems he’s still in control. He is civically connected. Many boards. His wife, Tana, is a Cleveland Foundation board member. She was a judicial appointee, meaning political connections and power.
Lindsay Lohan Had Secret Relationship with Heath Ledger at Time of His Death, Claims Mom

In a recorded phone conversation between Michael and Dina Lohan, Lindsay Lohan's mom reveals that the actress was dating Heath Ledger at the time of his death in January 2008.
In the recording posted at RadarOnline.com, Dina said:
“She was dating Heath when he died. I don't know if you know that, but I know cause I would drop her off and they were friends. Very, very close, okay?"
In the audio tape, which was from 2008, Dina also claims that the Australian actor's tragic death is what triggered her daughter's downward spiral. Ledger's death was ruled to be accidental as the result of "acute intoxication" caused by a deadly combination of six different kinds of pills.
Dina, continued:
"That f----d her up. When she's drunk or takes an Adderall with it, she will do something like Heath Ledger did in a second without thinking."
LiLo's mother also suggests that her daughter's problems stem from her parents rough marriage, a subject which Lindsay had previously said involved domestic abuse.
In the call, Dina claims:
"She cannot be alone,. When she sleeps here she sleeps with me... she has fears from being little and what you did to us."
