The Plot Thickens: The Same L'Oreal Ad, Two Different Shades of Beyonce

When L'Oreal unveiled their new Feria ad featuring Beyonce, something was noticeably off, specifically her coloring and skin tone. A side-by-side comparison of the L'Oreal ad and other photos of Beyonce made it appear that she'd been whitewashed by L'Oreal. L'Oreal, however, denied that they had done anything to alter her skin tone.

Now that the ads are out in print, another interesting discrepency has been found: the ad that runs in Essence is darker than the one that ran in most other magazines. Was L'Oreal specifically trying to target their black female audience, or were the printers mysteriously askew on Essence's print day? Hmmm..

Only 300,000 of the bottles will be produced, so unless you've got an invite to one of the ultra-exclusive fashion parties, you'll have to bid with the rest of the world on eBay.

Maria Sharapova Opts for Shorts at this Year's Wimbledon Tournament

In lieu of her standard tiny dresses and skirts, tennis ace Maria Sharapova has decided to begin wearing shorts. Other contenders including Ana Ivanovic and Serena have already been spotted in shorts on the practice courts, but there's been no word if they intend to carry that style over on to the matches.

21-year-old Sharapova said, "I'm going with the traditional shorts, believe it or not. I've never worn shorts at a Grand Slam. I'm gonna be debuting that. Call it menswear, obviously. It's kind of like a tuxedo look, very simple lines, classic."

At the 2007 Wimbledon tournament, the Russian star sported a ruffled white dress, which she says was inspired by Swan Lake.

Sharapova, who won Wimbledon in 2004, is the third seed this year. The number one seed goes to Ana Ivanovic, and the third seed goes to Serbian Jelana Jankovic. Serena Williams pulled in with the sixth seed.

World's Top Earning Supermodel Gisele Bündchen Set to Star in Austin Powers

Gisele Bündchen has once again been named the world's top supermodel for the second year in a row, with earnings of more than $35 million in the past year. The Brazilian model outearned #2 Heidi Klum ($14 mil) by more than double on the list compiled by Forbes.com.

Bündchen, 27, managed to rake in $35 million last year despite having terminated a lucrative contract with Victoria's Secret last May. In fact, she earned $2 million more than she did in 2006.

But the girl friend of football superstar Tom Brady is more than just looks- she's also known for her business savvy. Contributing to her 2007 earnings is the fact that she insists on having her contracts paid in Euros, rather than the failing US dollar.

Kate Moss dropped a spot on the list to #3, and Australian model Miranda Kerr (Orlando Bloom's girlfriend) is a new entry this year at #10.

Here is the list of the top ten earning supermodels in the world:

1. Gisele Bundchen, $35 million

3. Kate Moss, $7.5 million
4. Adriana Lima, $7 million
5. Doutzen Kroes, $6 million

"Worst Dressed" Amy Winehouse Being Paid $1 Million to Perform at Paris Fashion Show

Amy Winehouse picked up an award for "Worst Dressed" last night at the NME Awards, and as such, she's the last person we'd expect to be showing her face at a fashion event. The fashion industry, however, seems to have taken the style-challenged star under their wing.

Amy is being flown to France today by private jet for Paris Fashion Week, where she will be performing at Louis Vuitton's show. For this single performance Amy will be paid a staggering $1 million.

But there's even more proof that Amy has somehow become the fashion industry's unlikely golden child. Designer Karl Lagerfield has based a new line of clothes on her "unique" style, beehives were en vogue at London Fashion Week last month, and this week it was revealed that Amy is working on her own clothing and cosmetics line.

Steve and Barry's Big Ben Headache

The trade of Ben Wallace has had an interesting ramification for the Steve and Barry's who endorses a line of clothing for the chain. Wallace is unable to wear his signature "Big Ben" shoes because the colors of the shoes are designed for the Chicago Bulls not his new team the Cleveland Cavaliers. The company is frantically trying to come up with a new design so the defensive star can wear them with his new team.

Steve and Barry's will be releasing the second collection of the Big Ben collection, which also includes shoes, shirts, shorts, and other apparel, will be released next fall. While leaving a big market like Chicago probably hurts, playing in Cleveland where LeBron James gets constant media attention helps. The Bulls have been had a lackluster team so the trade of Wallace may be a blessing in disguise as the Cavaliers try to make it the NBA Finals for the second straight season.

Steve and Barry's has 5 Northeastern Ohio stores.

Actress Natalie Portman has launched a new vegan shoe collection for Te Cesan. A long-time animal rights supporter, Portman unveiled the line at the NYC Te Cesan store on Tuesday evening.

Natalie, who has been a vegetarian since age eight, recently decided to cut out all other animal products as well. She admits though, "I don't know how long that will last."

100% of the proceeds from the sale of the shoes will go to The Nature Conservancy, an organization dedicated to ecological protection.
