10 Tips for Pilates Beginners 

For people who are new to the practice, Pilates can seem like an intimidating form of exercise. The moves can be difficult, and it’s an intense workout. 1 – Be real and think positive

The point to Pilates is hopefully achieving a sleek, muscled body like the people who teach or have practiced the workout for years. However, you probably have a long way to go, even if you are already fit. Positive thinking is important and it’s helpful to have a realistic vision to aim for as you’re honest with yourself. 

2 – Have patience

It takes a while for results to really set it. The benefits of doing Pilates come from working consistently. You have to stay patient and regular in your practice in order to achieve your goals, and don’t sweat it if you don’t look as good as your teacher the first month in.  

3 – Find a good teacher and get the basic principles

The first thing is to find a good teacher in your local area. You should join a beginner’s class, where an experienced teacher will give you a proper introduction to Pilates. They’ll show you what each exercise should look like and feel like, and can help you as you begin your journey.

4 – Don’t push your body too much

Be aware of everything your body is going through, and stop if you’re finding any exercise to be painful. Some discomfort is expected, but listen to your body carefully. With attention to detail, you’ll get to where you want.

5 – Make time for your practice

Take some time out, and create a habit out of practicing Pilates on a regular basis. Keep off your phone and take some time for yourself to attempt to advance your health and exercise regimen.

Clearing space to practice, stretch, and move can give you a sense of relaxation and peace, as well as make it easier to incorporate Pilates into your daily lifestyle. Pilates also includes developing a more spacious state of mind. 

7 – Personalize

Conduct some research on exercises and Pilates advice to find what’s relevant to your life. You can consult with your teacher to especially find tips related to your specific lifestyle or health issues; Pilates teaches many ways of preventing injury or back pain.

8 – Don’t rush

Pilates is naturally a slow and flowing exercise. Speeding through it will not help or make it better. In fact, taking the time can make an exercise more challenging and can increase its effectiveness.

9 – Don’t distract yourself

If you play music, don’t pick something with a fast beat; you need to be able to listen to your own natural rhythm and breathing.

10 – Create a program that suits you

It will be extremely helpful to have a routine that is easy to remember and where you can feel and measure your progress in it. Overall, stick with what helps you feel your best.
