Best Gyros In Cleveland 2018 – Top Gyro Spots Ohio

When it comes to guilty pleasures food wise, Cleveland has plenty of them. Corned beef sandwiches, polish boys, fried chicken and ice cream are a handful of indulgences enjoyed by Clevelanders. One of my all-time favorites is the gyro. Juicy, thick slices of lamb meat, lettuce tomato, onions and cucumber sauce hits the spot after a night of fun with friends.

Gyros are also a lunchtime standby or a pregame treat. The Cleveland Leader has commissioned Mike and me to find the best gyros in town. It seems whenever I approach a weight loss milestone, we receive an assignment that shatters all of my progress and I have to limp back to the gym and start over. In spite of this, we reveled in this assignment and would do it again. My trainer Jamey is going to give me the meanest side eye emoji in life next week. Oh well, perhaps a gyro will help him forget!

Famous Gyro George

One of the city’s most popular diners, Famous Gyro George has delicious gyros. Their $2.99 gyro lunch special has been clutch for Clevelanders for a very long time. Most of their locations are open every day and never close. Famous Gyro George has a full menu so even if you do not want gyros, you are sure to leave with a full stomach.

Best Gyros

You do not name your place “Best” anything unless you are proficient at whatever it is you are doing and whatever it is you are selling. Best Steak and Gyros has earned their name over the years by serving arguably the most superior gyro in the city since the 1980s. Thousands of people in Cuyahoga County have been brought back to life with their gyros, Philly sandwiches as well as other tasty items on their extensive menu.

Bylo Gyro

Mike and I are proud east side residents. Our careers prod us into going west due to many great restaurants are located on this side of town. Whenever we are wrapping up an evening of research, Bylo Gyro is a go-to place for us. Their gyros are large and jam-packed with everything beautiful in the world. The staff’s friendly and the coffee is superb.

Greek Village Grille

Sometimes Mike and I think about starting a petition drive to move Lakewood to the eastside. It’s right on the lake, the people are friendly, and restaurant and bar scene is outstanding. In short, Lakewood is too cool for the westside. Seriously, one of a myriad of reasons why we feel this way is Greek Village Grille. By and large some of the best gyros we have had anywhere.

Freshly’s Gryos and Corned Beef

Since 2001 Freshly’s has been one of Lake County’s best places to find a gyro.  In addition to serving authentic gyros, all of their sandwiches are huge, fresh and a great value.  They have been lauded by Channel 19 and has been a top choice for late night party goers after a night of fun in Historic Downtown Willoughby.
