You may have heard people around Cleveland saying “Zero Fucks Given” when they are questioned about an action, did something blatantly wrong, or just as they meander through their daily lives doing whatever it is they are doing.  The meaning of the phrase took off a few years ago when a popular website called the Chive started selling shirts online.  Since then, the Zero Fucks Given Shirts have taken on a new meaning and really given people, mostly teens and savage adults, a lifestyle.

What Does Giving Zero Fucks Mean?

This is the ultimate “I don’t care” attitude.  It’s really a comment people make when they couldn’t possibly care less about an event, a situation, or a feeling.

I’ve seen many websites hawking t-shirts, coins, hats, and other gear with the statement on them.   Perhaps none of them more witty than that of http://www.ZeroFucks.com, where they sell the t-shirts shown below.

This shirt below is one of the softest t shirts you can buy.  Made by “Next Level,” this is a step higher than even the American Apparel type t-shirts that most people look for when they buy funny t shirts online.

Straight Outta Fucks to Give is a play on the movie “Straight Outta Compton,” which is a movie about the iconic Rap Group N.W.A. that got rave reviews in the movie theaters.  “Straight Outta” became a very common saying among people at that time, and you can find just about anything branded with “Straight Outta” plus a City name, or other.  The trends that followed this movie were quite ridiculous!

So if you are roaming around Cleveland and hear people say “zero fucks given,” you now know where this common statement came from.  If someone shows you the zero fucks given coin, you will know that they clearly don’t care about whatever topic matter you are discussing at the time.

Quick poll of people where, who owns a Zero Fucks Given T Shirt?  I for one, have one!
