Fat Cats
If you are looking for a new trendy restaurant and bar – look no further. Fat Cats is cool and eclectic making it the perfect setting for a night out with friends. It has a bar called the Lava Lounge that goes along with the rest of the vibe of the restaurant. Located in Tremont, it fits right in with some of the best bars in the city.
Fat Cats is located near other Cleveland favorites like Barrio Tremont and the famous Sokolowski’s University Inn. Tremont is definitely the up-and-coming neighborhood in Cleveland, and the perfect home for a place like Fat Cats and Lava Lounge.
Some fan-favorite appetizers include the Warmed Goat Cheese ($8), Crispy Brussel Sprouts ($9.50), Mussels ($10) and the Sweet Potato Fried Shrimp ($10). They clearly have a very diverse menu, making it a place that everyone can enjoy.
Most people come for drinks and appetizers due to the nature of the establishment, but it’s a great place for brunch, lunch and dinner, too! The menu features great choices of seafood and American classics like burgers with fries, as well as some off the beaten path options like the Kimchi Fried Potatoes (kimchi, pickled jalapeño, sriracha aioli, cilantro, fried egg, $8) and Fish Stew (clams, mussels, shrimp, fish of the kitchen, seafood tomato broth, walnut picada, $22).
The brunch menu features some of the previously mentioned appetizers alongside some great sandwiches, tacos, omelettes and drinks! Brunch is served every Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm.
The drink menu is full of classics as well as some unexpected delights (a common theme throughout the entire menu). They have a section just dedicated to local, Ohio beer that will be sure to please the craft beer connoisseur in your life. (Imports and Microbrews are also available.) Wine is available by the glass or the bottle. Their extensive wine list includes all kinds of whites, reds and sparkling wines. This makes it a little difficult to decide, but no need to worry, as the wait staff has plenty of training to find you your perfect pairing.
If you’re a cocktail person, they offer great ones like “The Charlie” (OYO honey vanilla vodka, espolon blanco, cointreau, lemon, chamomile, orange bitters, old city lemon soda, $10) or the “What’s Up Tiger Lily” (espolon blanco, blood orange liqueur, orange bitters, fresh lime, ginger beer, $10).
